I've been thinking about giving my son a pillow for nap/bedtime. No particular reason why. I just think he would be more comfortable with one, heck I know I would be. Should I give him a pillow or not fix what's not broken? I just feel kind of bad for him, ya know?

Re: Does your toddler use a pillow? Why or why not?
Audrey has a mini pillow pet in her crib that she uses... but, I use that term loosely. Every night/nap when I put her down, she lays her head on the pillow and I cover her w/ her blankie. But, it takes her an hour most days to settle down for sleep and when I get her up, she's never laying on it. She's all over the place in her crib. Maybe when she's in a big girl bed she'll calm down a little at night (probably just wishful thinking!)
So, I guess to answer your question... she has a pillow. She talks about laying down on her pillow and will at first, but she never stays laying on it.
DD has several stuffed animals in her crib. She calls one of them "sheep pillow" and she uses it as a pillow (at least for a few minutes when we first put her down
)
We thought about getting her a pillow, but decided we're going to wait until we move her to her big girl bed. We figure a) the pillow might be a lot to add to her alread full crib and b) it will be an added bonus to moving to a big girl bed, and an incentive to sleep in it
(she thinks using a pillow is a special privilege

We gave DS one after he turned 2. He started sleeping terribly, waking up multiple times a night. We wondered if he was uncomfortable, so we bough him a car pillowcase and his own pillow, and really talked it up! After that, he used to say in his crib - probably just coincidence, but I wasn't going to mess with success
Up until recently he never slept on it. Lately, he lies on it, but not just his head, his whole body. He puts the pillow on one end of the crib and lies perpendicular to the real direction of the crib, right on the pillow. Totally doesn't look comfortable to me, but he likes it!
