I know soap and water is best, but what do you do when you are out and about? This is a big issue for me because Owen is a thumb-sucker, especially in the car. We had been using hand sanitizer, but now I am reading that it is not that helpful + I know the antibacterial is not good. I have heard green products don't cut through/kill the peanut/tree-nut proteins....HELP! Thanks!

Re: talk to me about cleaning their hands on the go
probably not the best thing but only as a last resort, i use Lysol wipes (the ones you use on surfaces). I use it when we are at the park at night b/c he likes to rub his eyes on our way home. If we go during the day and he's not tired, i just wait until we get home and wash his hands in the bathroom and sometimes just with baby wipes.
I don't use the lysol every day.. just on days where i think its necessary.
I have also heard that green products don't help when it comes to peanut residue. so i figured lysol has to.. it has some serious alcohol in it.
i was off from work yesterday and took him to the park and he decided to lick the entire hand bar! i ran to him as fast as i could (it seriously was the entire handle which was as long as him).. he had bumps on his face after about 5 minutes (never seen a reaction like that).. i was so mad he did that.. but i think he got the point -i also never screamed and pulled him away from something so fast (he cried for 10 minutes and i didn't even hurt him) but i totally wanted to wash his face and tongue with lyson (i didn't though)
As a CF mom, we use hand sanitizer all the time. They make hand sanitizer wipes, which are nice for the little ones.
In a pinch, I use regular wipes.
