Moms of toddlers, when did you make the switch to pull ups? Was it when you started potty training or before? Is there a huge difference in absorbency between the two?
When we started PTing we switched although she pretty much went to underwear during the day, all day when she first started PTing. She would wear pull-ups for naps and nighttime sleep or if we were going in a long(er) car ride (4-5 hours). She still wears pull-ups for nighttime sleep but that's it.
ETA: In terms of absorbency, I find them pretty absorbent. As I said, she only wears them at night but she is a big drinker (water, milk) and they are fully soaked and huge in the morning but we've rarely had an issue with leaks. I was surprised b/c they don't seem so absorbent to me when you just feel them.
We only started using them when we started potty training, and really only for night/naps and when we are going out. When we're at home, we use underwear -- for us at least, it really made the PT process much easier. They are definitely less absorbant than diapers, so I only started putting them on her at night once she was gong on the potty consistently during the day and was starting to wake up dry (or at least less wet) in the morning.
We switched when he was fully potty trained during the day. Now he wears a pull-up at night. I just think it's easier in my mind. He can take it off himself and go to the bathroom.
We've had no leaks in the at night either.

Huge difference! We started working on potty training before the pull-ups, but are in them now all of the time except for at night. They definitely do not hold as much liquid as diapers - they probably only hold for 1 drink and my son often drinks more than that. I've never needed back up pants so much before.
We are making progress though and he says "no more diapers." Good luck!
Unexplained. IVF#2 worked! Beta at 10dp6dt = 154, Beta at 13dp6dt = 603
