My abdominal area is still sore. I'm not in constant pain but the whole area is still sore. It feels like the soreness you would get after overdoing it at the gym.
I'm wondering if this is normal or if it is related to all the complications I had. I spent almost 3 weeks in the hospital after my c-section. I was supposed to go home after 4 days but got moved to CCU after an extremely high fever, my hemoglobin dropped to below 5, and my blood pressure went through the roof. I spent a week in CCU and then another 1.5 weeks in a step down unit. I got multiple units of blood(5 the 1st day). I also had pneumonia. I developed clots in my arm from my PIC line and then one in my leg from being in bed for so long. I was very, very weak.
I was sent home with tons of meds but had to go back in a couple days later when my hemoglobin dropped again. I had laproscopic surgery and they found a hematoma in my abdominal area and all my organs covered in a pus like substance. They think that my hemoglobin kept dropping because my body was attacking itself as it tried to get rid of this hematoma. I was in the hospital for another week. Other issues came up(auto immune reaction to a protein in the blood they gave me, platelets kept dropping, electrolytes were all out of wack, we learned that when I was in CCU, I had been in accute renal failure)
So I don't know if my soreness is due normal healing after a c-section, healing from the 2nd surgery, or from all the complications... or if it's a combo of all 3. I just started being able to get back into a normal routine about 2-3 weeks ago. So maybe I am just overdoing it a bit.
I have to call one of my drs soon to renew a prescription so I'll mention the soreness to him then.
Re: still having abdomindal pain/soreness 3 months later
Damn, that's a lot of complications!
I was still sore at that time and I will get sore from time to time. It depends on how much I do.
