First ultrasound, not good

Yesterday we had our first ultrasound and I was 9 weeks based on my LMP, but LO was measuring only about 6 weeks and there was no heartbeat. Because my cycles have been off, they scheduled me for another u/s in 10 days -- they said that if LO is younger than we think, this would give him/her a chance to grow and the heart to start beating. If not, then wait for a natural m/c or D&C.

They said to have hope, but I got my BFP on August 19, so I don't see how it's possible for LO to be measuring so small based on this date. I'm trying to be hopeful but my practical side keeps looking at the calendar and counting, and thinking this isn't going to work out...

I'm sorry to hear that, but it's good you'll be going back in ten days.  I got my BFP 8 days before you so I'm surprised to see that you're a week ahead of me, but I don't know anything about your cycle, etc.

I don't know why you're behind me either -- that's weird. They gave me an EDD of April 15 based on a LMP of July 9. What is yours? I'm not sure what's up with my cycle either. I'm still breastfeeding and only got my period once since having DD 19 months ago.

My EDD is April 23 with LMP of July 18.  Hopefully you just ovulated late.

I am hoping you just ovulated late and LO is younger than you thought!

My LMP was July 8 and I have an EDD of April 13th. I have regular 28 day cycles.
