White noise help!

What do you use for white noise?  We have the sleep sheep right now and he's great for the 20-45 minutes that he's on, but Addy has been waking up to cars driving by lately at 2am and I need something that may play all night.  I've heard of using a fan, anyone do this??  Does it work?

  • We use a fan. Still use one for ds#1 too - I think it makes a world of difference.

  • We use this

Homedics? SoundSpa Sound Machine - buybuy BABY

It has settings for 15, 30 and 60 min as well as continuous play. It has 6 sounds: rainforest, ocean, heartbeat, summer night, rain, and waterfall. It has an adapter or you can run it off batteries.

    We love it!

  • I have to second the SoundSpa.  My lo is a very light sleeper and this little gadget has been a life saver.  Not so much for the projector (there is a model that has three different projection discs) but for the sound.  He has been and "ocean" baby from day one.  It's the only sound that will soothe him.  It plays all night long. I also got a travel one for $4.99 @ Bed, Bath, and Beyond for when he stays with my MIL or if we go away.  Like I said, life saver.  HTH!

Agree on the SoundSpa. The rain setting on high is the most like white noise.
