Trying to Get Pregnant

Walmart BBT

Does everyone else's BBT take forever (ok around a minute) to register your temp?  Lately I've been falling back to sleep while taking my temp, and it seems to take so long that I am not always sure if it beeped yet or not (I am not coherent enough to turn on the light and look at it).  Later when I fully woke up, I checked the temp and it was the same as yesterday, so I am not sure if it was just coincidentally the same or if I didn't finish today and ended up with yesterdays temp.

Just wondering if a minute to register is normal or if there is something wrong with mine.  For what it's worth, I am certain my Target one didn't take that long, but then again the Target one is crap with the favorite temps.

I used the Walgreens one and it didn't seem to take that long.  Maybe it just seems that long because you fall asleep?  :)  ETA:  FWIW even with my therm I would occasionally fall back asleep while temping.  Not sure if getting one that takes less time would help with that.

That's true, some mornings the readout could be as fast as two seconds and I would still fall back to sleep in that time.

I just tested it (while wide awake) and by my count it took 1 minute 40 seconds.  However I did find the original package and instructions and it says 60 minute read, so I guess mine's ok.

I would most certainly fall asleep in that amount of time Wink

  • I have the Walmart BBT and it does take that long sometimes.  In the instructions it says about a minute, but mine definitely takes a little longer sometimes (not always- sometimes it's faster).  When I check it later, it is almost always a different temp from the day before.  So I think it's normal for that BBT.
