Need a dress ASAP

Hi Ladies,

So I need a dress to wear to a wedding in less than 3 weeks. I'm only 11 weeks along and was hoping to wear something I already had. Tried on my closet tonight, and wow nothing zips over these boobs! I'm looking for an inexpensive dress that has room for a little tummy and room for the "girls". I've hit up Ross and similar stores with no luck. Anyone know of a good place to check? Thanks!

  • I would just go back to your favorite store and look one or two sizes up from normal.  Its probably a little soon to try maternity just yet.

I had to give away TONS of clothes after having kids bc of the girls.  I am saving some of my very favorites in the slim possibility I will one day get back into them.

  • Have you tried Macy's?  If the wedding isn't super formal, you might be able to find something there.
  • I hate to play Devils Advocate but I say stop by Target or Old Navy maternity and get something that is comfortable.  You should be able to find a pretty practical black dress that you can sass up w/ heels and jewelry.  This one might be a little casual, I can't tell the material.

  • Find a cute maxi dress (might have to go up a size for the girls) and add some fun jewelry and a little sweater shrug.  I had to do this for a wedding while I was pg last year.  Worked perfectly.

  • I was in a similar situation a few years ago.  I ended up getting a dress with an empire waist in a size bigger.  The empire waist allowed for all of the bloating and mini bump and was super comfortable.  A jersey knit will also also a bit of stretch too.

Maybe do an online search for empire waist in your favorite stores?  Or try The Loft.  They have Maternity clothing and will probably have something that will work.

  • H&M has some really cute dresses, some of which have higher stretchy waists, and some have a maternity section.
