I just choked on my dinner. Bad. My airway was completely blocked and I was physically incapable of coughing it up. I tried. I couldn't breath and was starting to panic and get dizzy. Just as I was ready to dial 911 I was able to "scoop" the food out using finger. Yes, I know full well that I could have lodged it in further, but I was in a full on panic. I really didn't want to die on my living room floor choking on a french fry. My kids are all at there Dad's, there was no one home except my dog. Sigh.

Re: Proof positive I am going to die alone
You can give yourself the Heimlich by making a fist and placing it right under your sternum, wrapping the other hand around it. Press your hand hard against the back of a chair until the food is dislodged.
Scary stuff.

That happened to me once, with a tortilla chip. Scariest thing ever! I was also home alone. Luckily the chip started to soften and dissovle and I was able to get it out, but its definitely a scare!
I didn't eat while home alone for a long time after that. It freaked me out pretty bad.
It's proof positive you won't!
Ditto the chair thing.
You know those candies, "Nips" (horrible name for a candy)? I love them, but can't eat them bc those slippery things have almost killed me twice. Waiting for hard caramel to melt slightly while waiting to die sucks,
OMG, I'm sorry to be laughing at this but everything about your post is cracking me up.
