I had my WTF from IVF#1 today. I got the DE speech which I expected to get but it still hurts. We are still going to try again with my OE with MDLF (we did EPP last time). I know I should try to stay optimistic but I really don't have much hope it will get us any more eggs or better quality eggs. When you are aiming for 4 eggs, it is pretty depressing. My embie quality was just atrocious last time so that is the main reason for my sadness and not the low number retrieved. I am also very much afraid I won't even get to a retrieval this next/final time. I am currently waiting for insurance approval and it is a fight to get it with my numbers/results of last IVF. They want a letter from the RE saying I have more than a 5% chance of success. If they approve, we will start when AF shows up in about 2 weeks.
Instead of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, it is getting darker here each day and I am just sad beyond words. (DH does not want to do DE or adopt due to the cost.)

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

McIrish.....I'm sorry that you had to go through a negative WTF meeting. Been there done that and I hate every meeting that I have to go to with a RE because I assume it's going to be all bad news again. You have to remember that you had a handful of eggs-but that DOES NOT mean they are representive of all the eggs that you have left. I try to think that I have probably 1500-2000 eggs left, of those-if 150-200 are of good quality, then that's good enough for me. It only takes one. I hope that you have better luck with MDLP (micro-dose flare?) The micro-dose flare has been the only protocol that got me to retrieval.........and I hope that it can do the same for you. Good luck with the insurance-that's a sucky hassle. Sending thoughts and lots of hugs your way.
I should also be cycling-probably a little after you though. My day 21 labs are on 9-23, then I have to wait for FP to start stims.
Ugh, McIrish, I'm so sorry. Here's hoping it gets approved and you can go for it. We can talk more about *maybe* trying to get your DH to see the positives in DE or adoption if it really comes to that, but really, it may not!

I'm sorry you are going through this. So, a big FU to IF and a big FU to insurance! We just spent 6 months going through hoops for a jaw surgery for DH that was finally approved so I feel ya on that one. There I times when I think it makes things easier that we know we have zero coverage for IF because of the games you have to play to get the coverage even when you are supposed to have it, (well, not really because of how expensive everything is, but it is so frustrating).
I'll be thinking of you and hope that this protocol does the trick for you. I always feel a little better when the Dr. has a reccommendation that we change something up. It gives me a sliver of hope that we could have a different outcome. My hope is that this will be the case for you. Take Care!
Oh honey, I am so sorry to hear this news for you. I know it sucks and I just hate it for you.
I know your DH is not interested in DE or adoption due to cost, but have you talked about donor embryos? There are services that match you with couples that have embryos already fertilized that they are not going to implant. The costs are much much cheaper because technically you can't "buy" embryos.
There is also adoption through your local county which is free, unlike an adoption through a private agency.
Hang in there, you will get to be a mother. I believe in my heart.
Many hugs to you!
