Hello ladies! I'm new here but have been lurking for a few days, so I thought I'd take the time and introduce myself! My husband and I got pregnant last May with a beautiful baby boy due in February and we were so excited ! On October 4, 2010 when I was 22 wks 2dys I started having contractions out of no where, then bleeding and so we went to the ER. They told me they'd just give me some meds to stop the contractions and send me on my way, but they never got to that point because labor had already progressed too far. I gave birth to my sweet Oliver Charles at 10:08 that evening, he was 1 lb, 11 inches, and the most perfect baby I'd ever seen. He was too premature and passed away in the birthing process. We had a funeral for him that Saturday, and have visited him frequently since then. I'm sure like you all, I think about him each and every day, sometimes with a smile knowing that we'll be a family again one day, and sometimes with tears because he's not in my arms.
The doctors have no answers for us as to why this happened, but have also assured me no answers is a good answer because that *probably* means it won't happen again. I'll be a high risk pregnancy (when that happens again) for the rest of my life and I'll have to see my OB and a Perinatologist. They gave us permission to start trying again after my HSG last December. We've now been trying for 9 months with no luck , but we're staying hopeful. I've also been charting since Dec.
Anyway, that's my story, and I hope we can all provide support to each other for as long as we're all here together! Sending lots of sticky baby dust your way!
*On a side note, I've had friends/relatives that have m/c and said to me it was so hard for them, but they couldn't imagine losing a baby at 22 wks like I did. Please don't post that, a loss is a loss, mine was/is no harder than yours, whether you lost a baby at 4 wks, or 39 wks, it's hard for all of us morning the loss of our child.
