Cloth Diapering

best bottom's and nicki's 15 day wash/return program?

I really want to try the best bottom diapers. I read the reviews on the review sheet. but any one else have anything to add - pros/cons?? I currently use tots bots easy fits and BG 4.0's but I love the idea of the best bottom system.... also has anyone ever done the 15 day wash/return program that nicki's offers? I figure if I hate the best bottom's and return them all I lose out on is shipping them back. there are always things I can buy with a store credit. how many shells/inserts should I get to get a good feel of it? would one shell, one stay dry, one hemp and one overnight be enough? or maybe more inserts? TIA!

  • Hey! I use Best Bottoms. I love the system. They are easy to travel with since I just carry a couple of inserts and an extra shell. If poop gets on the shell, you do have to change it. But if it's just pee or solid poop that stays on the insert, you can reuse the shell.

I don't use BB's overnight or for naps. I think it's the way my son sleeps, but he will leak in them in his crib. I use pockets for naps/overnights.

Honestly, I would purchase two shells and maybe 4 inserts to get a feel for the system. I personally like the stay dry better. I think the hemp bunch up and they are also wet against his skin. Also, the stay dry are very non-staining. The hemp stain easier.

These are my favorite diapers. It is an easy system and not expensive. The shells are pretty trim, so you don't have a massively fluffy tush, haha.

I have not used Nicki's wash/return system so I can't speak to that.

Let me know if you have any questions!

    This!

They are wonderful and don't take up a lot of room and are easy on the washing machine! I recommend these to everyone! We do use them overnight with the overnight insert and a regular insert. We haven't had a leak yet. I would give them a try.

I ordered mine off of Nicki's diapers because of the 15 day return, but we didn't have to use it. I have contacted them once about washing the diapers and they were very prompt with answering and very helpful!

     Hope this helps!!

  • We have Best Bottoms, and I really loved them for a while.  However, not so much anymore.  I mean, I don't hate them, but they leave a lot to be desired for us.  Its funny because we started using them because we wanted something more simple than the BG 4.0's we had, and tried BB's amongst a whole lot of other diapers.  We used them as our primary diapering system for about a month and a half, and then LO hit a point where unless we changed him every hour, he'd leak all over the place no matter what we lined or stuffed them with.  We've since gone back to using our 4.0's and haven't looked back.  I've kept the BB's for travel, and DH still likes them more than I do, but I rarely ever use them when I'm home with LO.  I would recommend getting just a couple of covers and a few inserts to try for a good amount of time before you invest in an entire stash of them.
