cold turkey no diapers?

so yesterday we took owen to pick out a potty and what i like to call "manties" lol. he's been doing great with peeing on the potty! within 5 minutes of being home with the potty he sat down and peed for the first time, big deal around here! my question is, do i just keep him in his underwear all day and then put him in diapers at nap and night time? or do i go cold turkey and deal with the clean ups. i know its only day 2 which is why i'm leaning more towards still wearing diapers at nap and bedtime. and also, i've been mostly letting him go naked because every time i put underwear on him he peed within a few minutes.

Congrats for your little man!!  We did cold turkey- diapers to underwear (I'm anti-pull ups).  My kids wore underwear for daytime, naps and bedtime.  I felt it was confusing to them to say keep your underwear dry but you can pee in a diaper for naps and bedtime.  Honestly, right away when we PT they automatically stopped peeing in their naps.  As for bedtime, we would wake them up before we went to bed so they could pee- they would always go back to sleep and wake up dry.  After @ 2wks of that we stopped and they continued to wake up dry.  Really we didn't have very many accidents at all (they PT at 17 & 15 months old).

We went cold turkey to undies during the day, but LO still wears pull-ups for nap and bedtime. ?Most times he wakes up dry from nap, and sometimes he's dry in the morning, but it's not consistent to th epoint where I'm comfortable dropping the pull-ups. ?From what I've read, some kids are physically unable to hold their pee overnight until age 4. ?Especially at your DS's age, I'm not sure he would be able to hold it.
