I am 13 weeks and am wondering when to tell my supervisor. I have already shared my news with some of my female co-workers, but its pretty much still a secret. When is everyone planning to tell?
I just did it today. I was super worried beacuse its a new job and I have only been there 2mths. but it went well and I feel so much better not hiding it anymore. Good luck

I'm almost 14 weeks and haven't told yet. I only see my supervisor once a month since we work in different locations 45 minutes apart. At our last meeting I was under 12 weeks so I didn't want to say anything yet. I plan on doing it in two weeks when we meet again.
I told my boss the day after my NT scan (when I was 12 & a half weeks). I have been telling other coworkers when the topic comes up since then, and word is spreading on its own through the office now. I was nervous to tell (mostly because I have had two losses and don't want to have to worry about untelling), but it feels nice now that people do know.
I don't think I count. I told my husband and wife boss right away. We are super close and they knew about all our infertility struggles. Plus I needed every 3 days off in the morning for a while there for monitoring. I wouldn't have been able to hide our BFP at all! I'll be spilling the beans to all else Thursday after our high-risk OB appt. I'll be 12 weeks.

I told my boss at 5 weeks. There are only 8 people in my office so I needed him to know I wasn't just in love with the bathroom. Glad I did now bc the 2x I pretty much just walked out when I had my spotting incidents he not only didn't question me, he offered to drive me
I'm hoping to wait until 20+ weeks to tell my work. I'm training to become a supervisor and I know I will be pulled out of the program if I were to announce now. Although it really depends on how early I start showing since I got pregnant 8 months after giving birth. But last pregnancy with my scrubs I didn't really show until around 30 weeks so I don't think it should be a problem (especially since I'm down over 10 pounds still and wearing the same scrubs).
I was going to wait until after my probationary period is up (oct. 4th) but now that I have to go in for weekly ultrasounds, well, there's no way to cover that up, so I guess we'll be chatting about it next week.
I actually just told my supervisor today, I decided to start off with a shock so the pg would lighten the blow.
First I told her with a dead serious look that I was quiting, I thought she was going to pass out in shock, I felt so valued, but then I told her that fine, I would stay, but I'm taking a maternity leave in March!!
She was more than thrilled for us. I was very open about my loss earlier this year, and she did honestly feel bad for me then. Plus, she's just a great person, and a baby person!!

I just told my boss today. We're a pretty tight group, so it's nice to have her support. I will tell the rest of my coworkers this week (I have my NT scan tomorrow). Some of them already know.

I was originally planning on waiting til 20 weeks- I also wear scrubs to work, but I am up 10 pounds and my butt & thighs have expanded so scrubs are already tight, I am not going to be able to hide this much longer
I think several people have figured it out. We were away for a big conference and someone asked why I wasnt drinking wine at dinner. I told him to ask me again in a few weeks.
I plan to tell next week. My 12 week appointment is Friday and I want to get through that first.
Not yet. I plan on telling my boss at 14 weeks, but asking him to keep it a secret until I have my appointment at 15 weeks, and if all is still going well then I will tell my coworkers at that time.
I am still not sure about telling all of my employees. I have 6 employees that report directly to me, and we all are close, so I will tell them at 15 weeks, but in addition to those 6 employees, I have 60 other employees that report to my direct reports and then to me. I am not sure if I even plan on making a formal announcement to them. I can't decide. I keep comparing this to when I got engaged last year and I told my 6 employees and then let the word just spread to all of my other employees. That was not news that I felt like I needed to make a formal announcement about and I am feeling the same about this, but I keep questionning that decision. The big difference is that in March, this will impact them, it is not just a week or two off for a wedding/honeymoon, but 6 to 8 weeks off of work for maternity leave, and althought me not being there will mostly just impact my 6 direct reports, it will have some impact on them as well.
This is getting long...but, as time gets close to my leave time i will clearly communicate the plan for when I am out of the office, but just not sure if I need to tell them now.
I told a few women at work right away. It was comforting to have people to talk to about it. I told my boss at about 10 weeks. I work for a really small company and we don't even have a maternity policy yet! After our 12 weeks and a good NT scan we told everybody else (hubby works with me.)
I told my boss back in August but I've been there for 7 years and they've known about our miscarriages. I figured when I made it to 10 weeks, if I did have another miscarriage, I'd need time off and have to tell them anyway. So why not let them share in my happiness with me.
I told my principal and a few coworkers who I'm very close with at around 8-9 weeks, when we first went back to school. My principal, who I've known since I was 12, was very excited for us. I wanted to let him know in case I was sick or had any complications. I plan on telling my vice principal and the rest of my coworkers this week after the 12 week scan on Wednesday. Haven't decided when/how to tell my students yet!
We go together like a wink and a smile. June 27, 2009
I told last week after my NT scan. I got a huge hug and lots of well wishes, it was great. I was pleasantly surprised that she was so happy since I've worked there less than 2 months.
I have two jobs, my Sunday job I work in an office in a busy warehouse and my boss doesn't actually work Sunday's, so I rarely see him. I've told lots of my co-workers, but haven't had the chance to tell my boss yet. I think he will be happy for me .
However, for my full time job, I work in an office on my own. My boss rarely comes to see me (probably less than once a month). So I can probably get away with not telling him for a while, but as I'm the only one here, I know he will need to know ASAP so we can start training someone to cover for me whilst I'm away. He's always said he wouldn't know what they would do without me! The only problem is I am due for my pay review by the end of October and usually get a pay rise, but I'm worried if I tell him I'm pregnant, they may say that I won't be getting a pay rise this year, and I could really use it as we've just bought our first house and baby on the way! I last saw him at the end of August so may see him again this month, but it really depends! Maybe I'll just end up telling him and still get my pay rise!

I told my immediate supervisor early on since I was taking a 1/2 day for my 1st OB appt. She was very happy for me. I told my department heads (I'm an admin for 2 departments) late last week, as well as our head of HR. One of my department heads is a real wise***, and I was fully expecting smart-alec comments from him, but he got all kinds of sentimental instead. It was nice, weird coming from him, but nice. Other than that I've only told my close friends at work, as time goes on I'm sure I'll get questions, or if it comes up in conversation somehow I may say something, but I don't plan to come out and tell the entirety of my office. We're a very gossipy place, and I want to do all I can to avoid being the center of the gossip for as long as I can. Those that I've told have been excited and understanding, so really, I had a great experience coming out to work. I hope later on the gossip queens don't ruin that.
I told my boss last week when I hit 13 weeks. He was out of town for a month prior to that but I still would have waited until 2nd tri anyway. All he said was "congrats" and to talk to HR so they could give me the lowdown on maternity leave. I was really freaking about telling him bc he has a history of not being supportive but it ended up being much easier than I'd expected. Good luck!
I told earlier than I wanted to due to an EHS issue (long story). My boss is an ass so I was worried. His response 'if this is something that you wanted, than I'm happy for you'. Nice, right?
I haven't told him it's twins yet. I figured I'd wait until after the NT scan.
Wanting to wait until October if at all possible; we're right in the thick of planning for a huge event on the 1st and I don't want to possibly distract anyone from that nor do I need anyone thinking of me as less capable in doing any of my responsibilities. By then I will be 14 weeks so it'll be a pretty good time to tell.
I have, however, told my direct supervisor and 2 co-workers. The sup only because the very first day back from a week long vacation I had an OB appt. and I wanted her to understand that I wasn't being irresponsible in any way whatsoever.
I was hoping to tell work last week after I had my checkup appt, but my boss was out with the flu all week. I need to tell him this week. DH says that I am starting to show more than I think I am.
The tough part is I just started a job with this location of the company 3 months ago, and I'm not sure how they will react. I feel like it will be a big deal because I have several large projects going on and they all will hit March/April when I will be out on FMLA.
Not looking forward to it...

I told a few weeks ago. This is number two and I'm already getting "thick." Feels great not to hide it.
