Sheets/blankets etc

My DD (4.5) has a full size bed, with sheets and a comforter.  However, she has always preferred to sleep on top of her comforter with this fluffy blanket (furry I guess is the word - not just fleecy, but furry).

I got her to recently sleep under the comforter, but she hates the sheet.  She is ok with the fitted sheet, but kicks the other sheet down to the bottom of the bed underneath the comforter.

I guess this is ok with me, even though washing the comforter can be annoying.  What do your kids do?

Honestly, I hate top sheets too. They irritate me. On DH and my bed, I skip it and just wash the duvet cover every time I wash my sheets. DS1 doesn't have a duvet cover, just a thinner bedspread-type blanket, and I wash it with his sheets every time. He always kicked the top sheet down too, and now it's easier for him to make his own bed.

This.  Only DD has a twin bed so washing the blanket isn't a big deal.

  • DH's fam is like this.  Many don't use the top sheet and just use a comforter with a duvet cover.  That is something you might want to look into because then you don't have to wash the whole comforter, just the duvet cover.  PBK has some really cute ones including a chamois one that is super soft and furry feeling.  Might be the way to go.

  • We use a down comforter with a duvet cover and a fitted sheet.  The duvet cover is light weight, like a sheet, and easy to strip off to wash.  They also make bed making easier since you only have one item to straighten.  If you have an IKEA near you, they have tons to choose from in lots of cute designs, plus several weights of comforters (down and poly fill).
