Bottle weaning?

Any advice on how to wean my 1 yr old from the bottle?  He currently has 2 bottles a day.  One in the morning (5 to 8 oz) and one for bedtime (6 to 9 oz).  We need to move him to whole milk but I'm unsure of how to get him to drink 12 oz of milk a day without a bottle.  He's a great eater and drinks out of a straw sippy cup.  Thanks for any help!

I sort of did tough love. I had to mix formula and milk for a bit to get him used to milk because he didn't like it at first. I slowly added more milk than formula for a few weeks until he was completely on milk. At the time he was still on 3 bottles so I started taking one bottle away at time. He was also drinking from a sippy with water but knew when it was milk/formula vs. water. The mid-day and evening ones were easier. I just gave him is sippy cup about two hours before bedtime while he played and he drank it. The morning was tough as he loved his bottle. I gave him his sippy cup with breakfast. He didn't really cry for it so it wasn't as bad as I thought. He didn't drink out of it either right away. It took a bit but now he's good.
