New to the board? Introduce yourself...

Hi ladies!

I'm noticing a lot of new faces on the PG & TTC check-in, but I've only seen a few intro posts. I thought I would give all of you that are new to the board a place to say hello. Not everyone reads the check-in posts so it's not really a good intro spot.

Tell us about yourself. Are you already a Mom? PG? TTC? New to the area? Etc, etc. You get the idea. We love having new people on the board and want to get to know you. Welcome to you all! I'm not new but I'll start.....

Re: New to the board? Introduce yourself...

  • I'm Dawn. My husband and I live North of Seattle. We have been TTC since May but I've been here on the Seattle board for about a year and a half. I CANNOT wait to have my first little one. In the mean time this board gives me a baby/kid fix. Wink I'm happy to say I've met some really great women here and have been given a ton of support and advice. Seattle Bumpies rock my socks off!

I'm an interior designer by day. I'm also a HUGE Seahawks fan that is thrilled football season has arrived (I realize I may be in the minority on this one).

    Nice to meet you.

  • Thanks for putting this up! :)

I'm Sora, and my husband and I also live on the northside, with our two cats. We've been together since November 2005, married since June 2009, and are now pregnant with our first child, due February 9, 2012. We're pretty thrilled!

I'm a SAHW these days, soon to be SAHM, and my husband and I are both big geeks, haha. We're into gaming and reading and all that good stuff. :D

I'm new to the board (didn't want to post locally until we were in the 2nd trimester, just in case!), and definitely looking forward to getting to interact with other moms and moms-to-be in the area. :)

  • Hello ladies!

My name is Amy and I am located in Kent. I am new to WA having moved here from Sacramento, CA just about 2 months ago. I am SAHM and DH is a Store Manager at Southcenter. DS is 9 months and was a total surprise!

I joined this board to see if I could get to know some moms in the area as I am mostly alone here, with the exception of a few family members.

I'm Meg, I live in W. Seattle.  MH works for Amazon, and I currently work part time for an animal shelter.  I've lived in Seattle since '08, and MH since '06, but still feel like I've got a lot to learn about the area.  And definitely a lot to learn about being a Mom!  We are currently expecting #1, after starting TTC at the beginning of the year. :)

  • Hi everyone!

I'm Carolyn and my husband and I moved to Bainbridge Island (from the Boston area) 3 months ago. We wanted to move to the west coast since my husband is from Oregon and we're closer to his family here. Mine lives in North Carolina and I'm still trying to adjust to the time difference when I want to talk to my mom.

We've been married for 4 years and together for 9. This would be our first, though I'm only 8 weeks in so I'm praying that MB ("maybe baby" -- my husband's monicker) sticks around. We haven't told anyone yet since I'm too scared to jinx it but plan to tell our parents when mine fly out to visit us in a few weeks.

We're both electrical engineers and I used to teach Scottish highland dance when we lived in Massachusetts. I miss all my friends, family, and dance students back there (had to correct myself from saying back "home") but am hoping to meet some new people in our new home. I'm a little homesick right now especially because they would all be so excited for us and I haven't made any real friends here yet. I know that takes time.

  • Welcome, everyone!

Oh, really?  My whole family (minus myself) is very involved in the Scottish pipeband society (HQ'd out of Chicago).  My sister played the pipes for about 15 yrs and my brother has been a champion pipeband drummer for many years.  His ex-gf was also a Highland dance instructor!  I remember she went through some sort of training in Scotland.  My dad is Pres of their local Scottish society.  As for me, I don't like the sound of bagpipe music so I was never a part of it.:-)  Btw, we're not even Scottish.  haha  Anyway, welcome!

  • I introduced myself while I was pregnant, but haven't really posted a lot since.  I live in Shoreline and am a SAHM to a 9 month old little girl.  I grew up in Renton, lived in Idaho for my early 20s, and moved back here about 10 years ago.  My husband and I have been together 8 years.

Oh and I have a girls weekend in Vegas next weekend that I am so excited for I could burst.  It's my first getaway since being pregnant and I plan on enjoying every. single. second.  I say this knowing that I will probably start missing my daughter while standing in the security line at Sea-Tac.

Our first little one is getting big!

  • I mostly lurk on the board but thought I should re-introduce myself.

My husband and I are new parents with an 8 week old boy named Clark.  We also have two dogs (our furry children).  We live in the Covington/Maple Valley area.  We have lived in the area for almost 2 years now would love to meet some local folks and especially some other parents.  I work at Children's Therapy Center in Kent (on leave now though) and my husband works for Horizon Air.

  • My name is Katie, and I live in the Kent area. We've lived here for six years, and have one daughter who is almost 18-months old. I am a SAHM.

There should be another Seattle bumpies GTG soon!

Our first baby girl, Lucia Joy, joined us on April 1, 2010!
  • My name is Suzanne. My DH and I live in the Olympia area. I was born and raised in Washington and spent most of my life on Vashon Island. My DH served at Fort Lewis and grew up in New Jersey. After he got out we stayed here.

We just celebrated our 1st anniversary, been together 6 years! And we are patiently awaiting the birth of our son, Corbin Michael, who is currently 3 days over due. I'm really looking forward to meeting our new addition to our family, we have 2 dogs, and of course taking 12 weeks maternity leave during the holidays!

  • I posted some when I was pregnant, but have been a lurker because my screen name was my full name and after witnessing some serious chaos on the national boards, I decided to be paranoid. However, I have since overcome my laziness and had my screen name changed (thank you Bump gods!).

Anyhow, I have a delightful 9-month old daughter and live in West Seattle.

  • I've posted a couple intros before, but I'm still fairly new here. I live in South Everett, just west of Mill Creek. I'm a SAHM with a 2 month old. I do freelance Graphic Design in my (not so) spare time. DH works at Boeing. We grew up in Idaho and have been here 7 years. I really love the NW, we are quite the outdoors type.

  • I've been lurking here for a while, so I guess it's time to say hello! I am a born and raised Washingtonian - grew up in the south sound area, now live in the Snohomish area, and I bleed purple and gold. Go Huskies! I met my husband while he was stationed at the Everett naval base and we've been married for 10 years. I am a teacher and DH is an electronics engineer. This July we welcomed our little girl S., and we are so enjoying being parents! We also have three fur baby Australian Cattle Dogs that keep us busy.
