Update - first day of preschool (re: Open House)

Thank you guys for all your responses to my post (about so many kids being mixed together in the preschool class).  I do appreciate that my DD will be spending time with all the kids.  When my DD was younger, I was used to older kids (older than 3/4/5/etc) who were larger and rougher on playgrounds, pushing her around, but hopefully for this closer age range, the kids are mostly the same.

As for dropoff this morning - wow it was a mess.  So the two classes are combined - my 4yo DD's class has 16 kids and I'm guessing the 3yo class is about the same.  30+ cars in the parking lot, 1-2 parents per child, and tons of siblings.. it was mass chaos.  People parking on the grass, people couldn't even fit in the lobby to get their kids into the classroom.  I felt worst for the parents of the 3 year olds who were leaving their kids for the first time, trying to get them settled in, and there was so much chaos.

The biggest problem now is just the parking and the tiny lobby - it is like 5'x3', not even, so I don't know how that is going to work for pickup, especially if it is pouring out or like 20 degrees below 0.. I'm not going to want to stand outside with my 2 year old.  And I had to wait quite some time for the signout sheet.

I know things will go more smoothly especially as the new parents get used to the routine, but the logistics of that many people in such a small space is impossible!
