First U/S

in 1st Trimester

Well we went this past Thursday for an ultrasound. I thought I was around 6 weeks and found out I'm actually 8! We got to hear the heartbeat and see it, it was amazing!!!

 When do you normally find out what you're having? I know some can tell as early as 12 weeks. So I'm hoping at my next appointment we'll find out....we'll see!

    I believe you can find out as early as 14 weeks???  The US is usually order for around week 20 weeks to determine gender and do measurements etc.  Best wishes to you & baby!  ;)

    We didn't get to find out until 17 and even then, DD wasn't cooperating so we had to wait until she was born. I actually liked it that way though- we got everything off the registry instead of a ton of little dresses that she never would have worn.

    Just to let you know at 12 weeks you can't tell what your having because the parts aren't "formed" yet :) 14 is when you can start to tell but not until 16-20 is when they will tell you for certain, even though nothing is really certain lol :) Congrats on your u/s!!!

    We had that experience too :)

    We thought I was about  5 weeks along and I was actually 8. My midwife said around 18-22 weeks is the best time to get a sex scan done. Everything is there and formed and clear to the scanner (sorry dont know the technical term). So you have a little wait but it makes it more exciting.
