Well said. Such a sad remembrance but the humanity and unity of the days, weeks and years following is so powerful. Lots of prayers going out to those who lost loved ones and for our country.

I cry every year when the start reading the names of those lost. It struck me that most people were younger than I am. Its so tragic and my heart breaks, especially the young children reading who mentioned their dads. They were babies/toddlers when they experienced such loss.
I think 9/11 is hard for all Americans, but I think its a little different for those of us in the NYC-DC corridor area b/c it was so close to home and most of us have a personal connection. DH worked in broadcasting and was in lower Manhattan filming (but thankfully not in the WTC) and watched the whole thing unfold. I had a few friends from college that we couldn't locate for days (all worked in the WTC) and I never want to re-live the pit in my stomach as we were trying to figure out if they were alive (fortunately all were -- many had to walk into brooklyn with just the clothes on their back).
TTC since April 2009
dx = PCOS;
TTC History for DS - A FET miracle after 7 IUIs; 2 fresh transfers, and 1 other FET resulted in BFNs.
Hoping and Praying for baby #2:
Cycle 1 - FET; November 2012 BFN
Next Steps - who knows?
They say God gives us trials & tribulations for a reason, and I am thankful for that, because I had a few aunts & and uncle who worked at WTC & for some reason they were not at work that day, my aunt was just diagnosed with cancer, my uncle was in a rehabilitation center, and my other aunt was home with my little cousin for her first day of school...I thank god that they had other reasons for not being at work that day, it was horrifying, being away in DC at college, I was on my way to work, I worked for Congress, and got the call they were evacuating, heard it on the radio, came back to the dorms and watched it all unfold on tv with all my college roomates. It has forever bonded those that have experienced it together, no matter where/who you were with, you will forever remember that day.
I could not get in touch with my parents & family who lived in NY, and from where my university was, you could smell the smoke from the pentagon. It was a horrible experience, and I can not imagine what life is like for those who lost loved ones that day.
God Bless all of our heroes, all the lives lost, and all who lost loved ones that day.
xoxo Noelle

I hope you don't mind me posting, but ESPN just did a little documentary on a college classmate of mine who died in the south tower while saving others. Just wanted to share... Bring your hankies...
TTK 9/06 / TTC 10/08 / Twins 12/11 / Life Blog 5 REs + 3 surgical hysteroscopies for septum/lap + 3 failed IUIs IVF w/ICSI/AH & acu = BFP!, unexplained spontaneous m/c @ 8w2d (our little girl), FET w/acu = BFP!, B/G twins!, lost MP @19w, dx w/funneling cervix @20w, twins nearly lost to IC @21w, saved by rescue cerclage, 17P & 16w of bedrest Our twins born @36w4d via CS when A came foot first
I had to stop watching the tribute as it makes me cry non-stop. My heart goes out to everyone who was personally impacted that day.
Beautiful Miracle Baby lost at 21 weeks due to pre-term labor and incompetent cervix. FET#1 BFN, FET#2 BFP, early loss. FET#3 BFN. IVF#2 BFFN. FET #4 BFP after removing bilateral hydrosalpinx and 3 months of lupron depot. Sticky Bun is here!!
It feels like it just happened. I can't believe so much time has passed. I still cringe seeing the footage. It's so hard to watch the tributes but it feels wrong to ignore this anniversary.

I watched the 9-11 documentaries all weekend, so unbelievable and sad and I agree that it has to be even more unbelievable and sad for the East Coasters, especially in NYC that witnessed such an event, tragic!

Thankful for every day
He was from Nyack- which is a town down the road from me. The priest talked about him in church today. Amazing.
Same here.
It was one of those days I will never forget.
Thoughts and prayers are with those who were lost and those that are still fighting.
