Is 6 oz. too much??

Just wondering if this is too much. My boys were born at 36 weeks at 5.4 lbs & 4.4 lbs. They have been drinking 5 oz. & were STTN for about 6 hours, but that lasted about a week. Now they are waking again every 3-4 hours so I'm thinking another growth spurt. They have been about 2 weeks behind when it comes to growth spurts & ahead with everything else. We just started feeding them 6 oz., but it seems like a lot for their age. How much were your LO's drinking at this stage?

Mine were drinking 5 and 6 oz at that age (only a few weeks ago ) we are still at the 5-6 oz stage, but if they are eating it and not throwing it up or anything then it definately isn't too much!

By 2 months old mine were ranging from 5-8 oz per feeding. By 3m they had settled into 7-8 oz per feeding pretty consistently. They chunked up fast though and then slimmed down starting around 8-9m.

And yes, ditto this. At one point I wondered if we were overfeeding our boys b/c they were eating a lot for their age and gaining quickly. Our pedi said if you're overfeeding you'll know because they'll be spitting up, or if you're coaxing them to finish that's not a good sign either.

Thanks for the replies!! Our Pedi has always said if they want it then give it to them & they definitely eat it up. They have gotten so BIG & are getting chunky too!! The only time we've ever had to "make" them eat or finish their bottle was when they were born to get weight on them.

Our boys are 5.5wks and eat 5-6oz every 3-4 hrs...Our pedi says if they are hungry and eating it without throwing it up than feed them...
