NT Test

Has anyone been able to find out baby's gender during NT test?

Re: NT Test

  • Boys and girls still look really similar at that point.  Some techs may make a guess but I wouldn't put any stock in it.  Here's a link with pictures and more info.  I didn't ask at my u/s and the tech didn't mention it either.

  • I did with my son although the tech and dr told us not to paint the room blue. They didn't even attempt to guess with my daughter.

  • This is interesting to me as well. My NT scan is Monday and my first time having this scan done. My girls are 2 and 4yrs and it previously wasn't offered unless you were high-risk, or adv. maternal age at that time.

I'm wondering if it also makes a difference in their ability to take an educated guess at the sex is you are closer to 10 weeks or more near the end range, i.e., 13+wks. I will be 12wks 1 day for mine and we're likely team GREEN once again anyway (love the surprise) but I'm tempted to know ahead of time this time around ;)

  • With my first I asked the tech and she said she was 60% sure it was a girl. Not great odds, but she's a girl so she was right!
  • A girl I went to school with found out at her NT scan that it was a boy, and it was confirmed at her A/S that it was a boy. I guess it can happen, but I wouldn't take all bets on it. Maybe an educated guess, but don't go doing the nursery until it's truly confirmed.

It may look like a girl at 12 weeks then it's penis grows and actually shows a boy. Or they guess its a boy and the clitoris is just really enlarged and it's actually a girl.
