Do you have a nursery theme yet??

Happy Saturday Ladies!

Do you have a nursery theme yet or are you waiting until you find out the gender of the baby? (If you are)

We're waiting for the gender but my word. I've been on ETSY this morning and there are soo many cute ideas and decor items... I can't wait to get this party started!!

Re: Do you have a nursery theme yet??

  • I think I am going with a bumblebee theme because I love bees.

I like this nursery set (it's called Bumble) by Carter's, but I know that themes and bedding sets change often.  I'd just like something similar with similar colors (even if we have a girl... I don't like pink).

Or else maybe a baby quail theme.  Quails are my spirit animal. Cool

  • I haven't decided if I will still use it if we have a boy, but I really like an owl theme.

  • I only have ideas for a girl. Owls I love the stuff from pottery barn. But I have no ideas for a boy yet.

  • We were Team Green with my DS, but I still had a lot of fun decorating GN.

This time we're finding out, so I will wait until then to pick out bedding, paint and what not.

I love bee's too! Quails would be really cute also! They are all so very cute...

  • I love looking at blogs for nursery inspiration.  Regardless of the gender I'd like to decorate the nursery with an airy, vintage vibe. Lots of whites and neutrals with a hint of an accent color depending on the gender.  I love furniture from Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware.  This nursery is my favorite so far, minus the bunny decor, https://www.ontobaby.com/2011/03/dreamy-sophisticated-nursery/.

You could totally use an Owl theme with boys or girls... Just change up the colors of the accents! Big Smile

  • We're going to do a jungle theme. I found a boy one and a girl one I liked at babies r us. Both are super cute with tons of decoration ideas! I just cant wait to find out what the baby is. Sept 24 is the big day!

  • Our theme is "we're having a baby" and there will be a crib, changing table and other baby stuff in the room.
  • I have my heart set on Classic Winnie the Pooh (not Disney Pooh).  I think it works for both a boy and girl.

Dewey will be sharing his/her room with my SO's 9 year old son, so even if it's a girl, I can't get too girly (as sad as this makes me).  We have a lot of great ideas on how split the room in two, but I still want to make sure Tyler isn't walking through a room of pink to get to his stuff.

  • My mom is making the stuff for us and she found awesome jungle animal print that she can either accent with pink or aqua deepending on what this little one is.  So excited about our jungle nursery!

  • Cho! I can't quote, but, I registered for the same bedding :) I love the colors. I'm not a pink person and really wanted to do yellow/gray.
  • My husband is really excited to be planes if it is a boy.  So that we will do.  If it is a girl I suppose it is my choice.  Since I hate pink it will probably be some sort of light purple.

  • I love white furniture with bright accents, and I love elephants. So I think we might end up doing an Indian theme possibly. After watching A Little Princess last weekend, I've been inspired. There's this website called rickshawdesign.com and I love their stuff, it's very beautiful but subtle. But it's also on the expensive side, which kind of stinks.

  • We are using the same furniture that is in there.  But we are doing an alphabet theme.

  • My Husband loves elephants so we will have a couple elephant things a painting on wall a lamp and thats about it... I want a more adult contemporary room, as he/she gets older we will accumulate more kiddy things

  • For some reason I can't get excited about a theme, but I do have colors that I love. I'm pretty set on some combination of red/white/aqua (turquoise, whatever). This is the only thing we've bought so far- a rocktopus! I got it on Zulily and I'm kind of obsessed.

    High five!

  • I think we will do owls either way.  DS1 has a baseball room.

  • We're planning on keeping the nursery simple, no real theme. No offense to anyone else, but some nurseries are so colorful and babyish that it makes me feel nauseous. Depending on girl/boy, we'll be using whites, browns, blues, pink.. a variety of colors. I am in love with Pottery Barn Kids so I'm sure our nursery decor will come from there. Surprisingly, their prices aren't that far off from bedding sets I've found on overstock or amazon.

  • We're doing a woodland animals theme.  We'll tailor it to a girl or boy with accent colors.  We saw a cute pack-n-play thing at Target that matches our theme.  We held back on purchasing it even though it was on sale.  Etsy has some really cute woodland baby items.  I can't wait to get those.  Maybe Santa will bring them.

  • I had my heart set on owls (using the skip hop treetop friends bedding) but was entertaining the carter's bee. Then DH and I were shopping and went to pottery barn kids and saw this: https://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/eric-carle-nursery-bedding/?pkey=rromnurecl

He loved it and I think it is so colorful. We weren't planning on using any bumper so it was more cost effective to get this set and the sheet is pretty much the coolest part and what you would mainly be seeing in the crib anyway. We are getting a plain yellow crib skirt instead to tone down the blue. We did get the quilt but I've always loved blue so I think it's still pretty gender neutral. I remember my nursery (because of my baby blanket) and the room was yellow but I had a blanket that was mainly blue with elephants and other circus animals.

I know everyone is different but once you have a girl or boy people will buy you so much pink or blue stuff that it seems like it would be refreshing to not have the whole nursery along one of those color schemes.

  • I was thinking that lambs would be a cute gender neutral theme.  I have seen some very simple white bedding with lambs on it that I really liked.  After we have the baby and know the sex, then we will add little hints of colour around the room.

  • Boy: Not sure. Probably pandas.

Girl: Cherry blossoms. I already fell in love with bedding for that.

  • Im from the coast n live in the desert now. We have decided to do an ocean theme. We already bought the bedding because its discontinued. Fisher Price Ocean Wonders. It has teal and a cute purple whale with a bunch of ocean friends...super cute. If its a boy we will paint light blue if girl we will paint light purple

  • I want a gender neutral room. I don't know the gender yet. We decided on an aqua paint. When we know the gender I might add a few gender specific things, but overall, its neutral. I figured when we have more kids we can reuse the things we have like the bedding and bigger things. We're just frugal.

We decided on just a colorful room.

  • Originally I had plans for either a farm (mostly cows, I LOVE cows and they're super cute and useful) or turtles, as DH and I LOVE sea turtles and land turtles, but DH is also completely against putting holes in the wall or painting the walls of OUR house...  I had to fight with him to put curtains up and a painting of the Last Supper that I inherited from my grandma that's been in our family for like 100 years...  Is it weird to have a plain nursery?

  • We won?t be doing a nursery. Baby will be in our room for a good while (my son slept with us until he was 2 and then moved to his own room) and will then probably share a room with my son. Our house has three bedrooms, but one is on the ground floor and is used as a play room. We will save a ton of money on furniture because we don?t use a crib, my son?s dresser is also a changing table so I?ll just put the changing pad back on, and I already have an extra chest of drawers in my son?s room that is empty. I got to do the decorating of the nursery with Cash, and that was fun, but he spent very little time in there so I?m not too sad about missing out on that this time around.
