No Spleen?!?

We got the results of LO's abdominal ultrasound that was done for her reflux and the GI says that they cannot find her spleen. We are being scheduled for a CT scan and appointment with an Immunologist and Geneticist. Now we are looking at antibiotics for at least the first 18 years because she is more susceptible to bacterial infections. Started amoxicillan today. Have to have extra immunizations. I am freaking out about daycare! It amazes me that one little girl can have so much wrong with her and it not be connected in some way.

Anyone heard of a newborn with this? We are hoping that the CT Scan will find it!

    I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this!  I have never heard of a baby not having a spleen.  I hope everything turns out OK for you and LO.
