Anyone switch LO room before #2 came?

I'm barely missing the 2u2 mark but I have a quick question and would love any thoughts. 

DH wants to move DD to our additional bedroom that would be for baby2 because he wants to furnish with a toddler bed and keep her very heavy baby furniture in the original room.  I'm not sure how I feel about kicking her out of her room... I don't want her to have a hard time.  Just wondering if anyone has done this or considered it.

If I had done it, I would've done it earlier than later. At 2-2.5 DS was kinda set in his little boy ways and loved his room.

I'm in the process of doing that now.  The second bedroom is smaller and fits the toddler bed better, not to mention we would have to take the crib apart to move it and we have to put the guest bed in that room now.  I haven't done it yet so I don't have any real advice for you.  BUT we are moving DD (almost 17 months) in the next couple of weeks.  I want to have her completely moved and comfortable long before DS arrives (in mid Dec.).  We actually got her bed a few months ago and are in the process of setting up her room (we had to move some furniture/computer etc)  We go in there just about every day and she absolutely loves it!  We play for awhile and she likes to jump/lay down in her big girl bed.  I plan to move all the decor, curtains, stuffed animals, lamps, etc to her new room so that it still kind of looks like her old room.  We are renting so there aren't any permanent fixtures/paint/murals or anything for her to really miss.  DS will sleep in our room for the first few months, so her old room will sit vacant for awhile (except for guests).  I am hoping this helps alleviate the "you're getting kicked of your room and we're giving it to the new baby" kind of thing.

We moved DS at 18 months to a new room and it was a completely smooth transition. The new baby will sleep in the gender neutral nursery until they're able to share a room.

We did. It worked pretty well since we were able to decorate more for her since we now know her personality. We painted it yellow (her favorite color) and added giraffes (her favorite animal). She loves it and had no problem transitioning.

We moved DS about two months before DD was born.  It wasn't a big deal for him. We decorated it with his favorite things and he loved sleeping in the "truck" room.  I just made sure to do it with enough time before the baby arrived in case we did have problems.  Good luck!

We moved DS to his new room at the beginning of July, so about 3 months out. Zero transition problems. He loves his new room...but he's also only 17 mos right now.
