Has anyone out there ever gotten a UTI? Most importantly if you have, did you have a pain in your lower right abdomen area every time you sit down? I went to urgent care the other night(could not get in to see a reg doctor). He said it is not my appendix cause when he presses down it does not hurt in that area, but thinks its a UTI. I have never had one so I don't really know how they feel and I guess its different for many. I do not feel like I have to pee all the time and when I do pee its not just a little bit, its a normal amount for me. All I have is pressure in my lower abdomen and a pain in my right lower abdomen area that comes and goes but always shows when I sit down. I keep worrying what if something else is really wrong but I really don't want to go to the Emergency room because I feel silly if it is nothing. Its just I have never felt this before...

Hoping for a shamrock baby....Grandma, I know you are up there looking down on me. March and St Patrick's Day is a very special time for all of us. It would be amazing to find out I was pregnant in March! Please send me all your Irish luck (been trying for 7 months and I need it!) I Love you! XOXOXOXO
Re: UTI
if it is a uti, the symptoms should alleviate in a day or two being on the meds. if the pain gets worse and doesn't go away go to the doctor!
i've never heard of pain there either on me, i've had quite a few. but there's a first time for anything!
one time it didn't hurt to go to the bathroom but my back hurt. So you never know.
Well when I had my UTI, that's where my pain was, and I didn't really have any other symptoms. Every case is different though, and if you are in a lot of discomfort, maybe the ER is the best route.
Oh ok thanks! I will see how the next few days go.
I'm not a doctor or anywhere near it but I have had my fair share of UTIs and bladder infections. For me, it feels like I'm peeing molten lava. I've never really had pain in my abdomen area before. I have had intense pain in my lower back on one side that turned out to be a pretty bad kidney infection.
What kind of antibiotics did they put you on? 2 a day for 3 days seems kinda light to me.
Just offering some advice here. If you continue to have pain in your back or abdomen region, fever, or nausea- I would go to the ER. You may have a kidney infection or kidney stone. They can do an X-ray to determine if you have a stone. If you don't start feeling better within 24 hours of taking antibiotic, get checked out because it will become worse if you leave it go. I recently had my first kidney stone and it was awful. I went to an urgent care and was diagnosed.
The "new" thing for treating UTI'S is to only treat with 3 days of antibiotics. Research concluded that in most cases that is all that is necessary. Good old medical research! I am a nurse and a big medical geek so I enjoy reading articles on antibiotic treatment
Good luck!
