Pregnant after IF

biophysical profiles?

well, minus palpitations requiring beta blockers, my pregnancy has been rather unremarkable thus far.  i've only gained 6lbs total since week 12, my blood pressure is good and I passed the 3 hr GTT.  Doctor told me today that I needed to start watching for Braxton Hicks vs. real contractions and that after my 32 week appointment (4D ultrasound) that I will start having weekly biophysical profiles due to being on beta blockers.  He asked about my heart rate and my blood pressures at home.  Anybody else getting this closer monitoring in this last trimester?

Re: biophysical profiles?

  • I was just researching that! They want me to do them for Papp-A in the 20th percentile. Everything else has been looking good (knocking on wood), so I think if we do ok on the first one at 32 weeks, I'll ask to have them less often than once a week.

  • I'm not sure if this is norm, it may be. But I start going in weekly now to see my OB and then twice a week til delivery for my NST.  all these appts have been a pain to arrange with my schedule but I get to see my little guy each time so I'm happy for that!
