***TaKhLakH***

Is your DH's family LDS? From your Bumpin' in Cali post the other day, I got that impression. I ask because my DH's family is (and his name is from the Book of Mormon) so I can totally relate to the "good" side and the "bad" side. If not, ignore this post ;)

  • Yes, they are!  They have 6 kids and the oldest 3 (DH's older sister, him and his twin) would consist of the "bad side"  :).  His mom pretty much hated me when we started dating because DH stopped going to church around that time.  Whatever!  We're fine now but it took a good 6 years and having her first born grandchild  to get her to like me.  ;)  She still thinks I'll convert one day....ummm not happenin!

We were on a "family vacation" but they spent all day Saturday at the temple (baptizing the dead!) and then all morning Sunday at church.  We only saw them for a little bit before we left for the airport on Sunday.  What's the point of a family vaca when you're going to spend all your time at church and away from the whole family?!?  Guess we'll just go to the bar!  ;P

  • DH is an only child and his parents left the church when he was 3 or 4. So DH wasn't raised in the Church. But, most of his extended family lives in Utah or Idaho and are card carryin' LDS. Luckily, they have all been very welcoming and since we are the only part of the family that isn't, we are somewhat of a novelty. Like your MIL, I think his family thinks we will convert someday. Sooo NEVER going to happen. Have you read this blog?
