March 2012 Moms

any cyclists?

I used to bike almost every day all winter, spring and early summer, but once it go to 100+ degree weather I stopped. Then I got KU and had no energy to do anything! So it's been a good 3 months since I have taken my bike out. The weather is finally starting to cool down, so I am excited to get back on the bike again.

Anyone riding? Any second time moms, how long did you bike before it got too uncomfortable?

Re: any cyclists?

  • DH spent about 3 hours getting our bikes up and running last night! I used to do triathlons as often as I could, but same thing, stopped the crazy training when we found out I was KU in July. Since then I have been put on walking and swimming limitations only, BUT the OB said biking is ok as long as I'm not pushing it too much!

As soon as this rain stops I can't wait to get back out!!

  • Im a mountain biker and haven't ridden since I got the BFP.  It makes DH too nervous which I completely understand. So just walking/light jogging/elliptical and some circuit stuff for me.

  • I wouldn't really call myself a cyclist, but H and I used to ride our bikes around 8 miles on the weekends to change up our running routine. Ever since I've been pregnant, I haven't had the energy to even walk around the block. I've also been having random dizzy spells, so I'm weary to get on a bike. I hope once 2nd tri gets here, I'll feel better and be able to enjoy the nice weather before it gets too cold.

  • My husband bought me a really nice road bike with clip in pedals and stuff but I didn't get to ride much before it got cold and then it got so hot and I was KU and tired I didn't ride much.  I'm afraid to ride it now because I'm not fully comfortable with the pedals and I hate falling at all but I feel like falling while PG would be extra bad, so I'm back to my mountain bike for a while.  But I'm excited about riding it again now that it's cooling down and my energy is coming back!
