My friend is going to make a good recovery, and should be released tomorrow.
Sadly, their sweet baby girl did not make it. She passed away yesterday evening. The families were able to see her, and mom & dad bathed her and held her and she took her last breath in her father's arms.
We are all sick over this. She really is one of the best people I know, her favorite thing to do is laugh. When she told me she was pregnant my immediate response was oh you are going to be the best mom! I haven?t ever reacted that way before, its just so true of her.
I missed her when I went to the hospital; she was having a CT done. But I saw her husband, also a good friend, her family, and his family. His sister is my best friend. The halls were crowded with people who love them.
And as his sister put it, that little girl was loved more in her short time than some people are loved in a lifetime. This was made all the more real for them by being told there were some babies in the NICU who had no visitors.
I received an e-mail from the baby's grandfather, and he said that the grief can't compare to the love they have for her.
I was also able to see some pictures and she was beautiful.
Basically her little body couldn't overcome the trauma, her kidneys were not functioning, and she had bleeding in her brain. They are burying her on Saturday.
I want to thank all of you so much for your thoughts and prayers. Hug your LOs tight tonight.
His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!

Every time I had DS in my arms today I kept thinking of your friend and her LO, I would look at DS and think how blessed I am to have had a healthy and vibrant baby. I cried reading this update. I'll keep praying for all involved to find strength and solace.
