How many pair of socks does an infant need?

I noticed tonight, we don't have many pair of socks for the girls.

How many pair of socks should I buy for their October arrival?

 Thanks!

  • that depends... how many of their outfits have feet attached?

I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • I hate baby socks because my girls always manage to get them off. We have probably 8 pairs of socks and rarely use them because they LIVE in zip-up footed sleepers. All day, every day. Zip-up sleepers. Do it. For your sanity. ;)
  • I think we have 15 pair per kid and for the twins it's MORE than enough.  I think 10 pair each is more than plenty.

ITA. We are just now starting the guys wearing socks, since they are getting too big for sleep and plays.

  • I had a very few pairs of socks.  There were probably less than 3-4 pairs per baby that were actually worn.  They lived in footed sleepers for the first 3 months.  And, I always kept the house warm enough that I didn't really feel the need to put socks on them in the house after February or so, once we started wearing real outfits.

Same for us. Each baby received a box of fancy Trumpette socks from my boss when they were born that had 6 pairs in it, and that was more than sufficient for the first 7-8 months.

  • my twins lived in the Carter sleepers with feet the first 3 months of their lives LOL it was just easier, less laundry, less outfits to put together, etc.

So I would say no socks :-P I didn't use any socks until closer to 5 months when I started actually dressing them in onesies and pants, hehe

  • Zero.  We just never used them and if we did babies managed to get them off.

Now at 13 months and using shoes to walk we're finally using socks.
