Ok girls. I need a potato recipe to feed a crowd...

We are having a cook out at my house this Saturday and grilling hamburgers.  I need a good potato recipe to feed a crowd.  I am tired of making cheesy potatoes and potato salad.  It seems like those two are the only things I make anymore when we have get togethers.  Any other suggestions?

  • Sometimes we make oven fries - we cut up the potatoes and marinate them overnight in Italian dressing and then bake them on a cookie sheet in the oven at 350 for 35-40 minutes (we do it before the party starts).  They get really crispy and are yummy!  They key is to cube the potatoes nice and small.  You'd be surprised how many servings you get just from cutting them up small.  Then people can dunk them in ketchup like fries.

  • I'm assuming that you are talking about a traditional potato salad, have you ever tried german potato salad? I think it includes bacon, green onions, vinegar, and a tad of sugar (I would def google the recipe though lol!) Hope this is helpful! :)

  • I like the slice (or chunk) potatoes and onion, a few dollops of butter, salt and pepper between two large pieces of foil.  Place on the top rack of the grill while your burgers are cooking.
  • I always make creamy hashbrowns.  Frozen hashbrowns, cover with half and half (or heavy whipping cream, however fatty you feel like you wanna be) and some butter.  Bake at 375 until golden on top.  Very good, very easy!

  • I have a SUPER easy SUPER yummy one that's way easy to do for a crowd. - only 3 ingredients. The recipe is actually on the back of a Lipton Onion Soup Mix box. Here's the link: https://www.makinglifebetter.com/Recipe/Potato/ONION-ROASTED-POTATOES-3-4637.aspx

  • I make a potato recipe for my hubby who digs salt and vinegar potato chips, so this is a healthier dish.

2-3 big potatoes, peeled and sliced thick (apx .5 inch)

1 red onion, halved and sliced thick

    2-3 tablespoons of olive oil

    3-4 tablespoons of apple vinegar

put in dish and bake for 40 minutes at 350, or until tender.

Dash more apple cider vinegar over top, and salt with sea salt

    yum

  • We love to cut up potatoes in chunks and cover them with Italian dressing and bake...they taste SOO good. It's always a grill time favorite!
