Sorry this is complex question. But I have amenorrhea and don't get a period on my own. So in order to get one they have to induce one with Provera or BCP. My first practice would always induce one with BCP for a month but my current practice uses Provera (10 days). I've always had thin lining as well...but it always got to 7mm with estrogen priming. I got pregnant in April but had a blighted ovum and had a d&c in May. Now trying for a FET and can't get my lining to go higher than a 5. I've been doing Provera and then estrogen ( first try was vivelle patches and estrace pills and second attempt was delestrogen injections). They have done a hysterscopy and they say there isn't any scar tissue or anything from the D&C. I wonder do you think it's better to go on BCP for month than Provera for 10 days to build up lining? I always thought BCP made lining liner. Again, so if this is a crazy question but trying to see if anyone had similar experience.
Re: amenorrhea/thin lining-BCP or Provera to induce a period?
i don't have an answer in terms of bcp vs. provera but was wondering if you tried any other things to thicken lining?
you can do acu, drink lots of pom juice, wheat grass, warm compresses and viagra supps.

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

I had unexplained amenorrhea for a good 4-5 yrs (It's gone now - bizarre. I suddenly have 30 day cycles. WTF??). I never once had a lining issue with IUIs or fresh cycles but FETs were a different ballgame for some reason. We did one FET with Estrace and Vivelle patches where I had an OK lining (it was m/c #4) but we had 2 or 3 other tries that were subsequently cancelled due to craptastic linings. I did have some scar tissue from a d&c that was removed via operative hysteroscopy but that still didn't explain the whole lining issue. I never did BCPs for my FETs. We'd start whatever combo of meds around cd3 and go from there.
For our most recent (finally successful) FET we actually used a very low dose of Follistim and a compounded estrogen supp from my clinic's partner pharmacy. It was very much like and injectible IUI cycle. I triggered and everything. Then, at what would have been "5dpo" we transferred 2 embryos. They're 14 months old now.
Hang in there. It's so, so frustrating to fight FETs over and over again. Keep working with your RE and trying new med combos. I firmly believe that there's a "right" combo out there for everyone, even if it seems unorthodox.
