Anyone have the Britax Roundabout 50 Classic?

I've read that the newer Roundabout 55 is better, but this classic is on sale for only $100 this week at Target!  It may not be the best of the Britax, but its probably still a lot better than most of the other brands, wouldn't you think?

I'm trying to decide between these models at target:

britax raoundabout 55 $158
britax boulevard 70 $221
britax marathon 70 $221
sunshine kids radian 65 $196

  • We have it for DD but haven't used it yet- she's still in the infant seat.  But yes, that's a great deal for a great seat.  I'd go ahead and get it.

  • We have this seat x 2 for DS and love it.  It's a great seat and honestly, your kid is going to outgrow the height limit way before they outgrow the higher weight limit.

  • I would not purchase another Roundabout.  The shell is so short that my average height daughter outgrew the rear-facing position well before her 2nd birthday.  We had to buy a 2nd convertible seat to keep her rear facing longer and used the Roundabout only for occasional trips in the babysitter's car.  We recently replaced it again with a high back booster because she outgrew the Roundabout in the forward facing position.  It's not much savings if you have to buy multiple seats.

Did you have the original Roundabout? Because my DD outgrew the original Roundabout as well. The seat the OP is talking about is not the original and actually has the same size shell as the Marathon.

ETA: I am pretty sure that the new RA 55 has a shorter shell than the RA 50, but I could be wrong. I am sure you can do a comparison on their site.

Whoops, I should have checked my facts before I posted.  I didn't know they'd made the Roundabout the same height as a Marathon.
