i have an IUD and am concerned about a sharp pain im feeling

for the past 2 days or so ive been getting sharp sharp pains inside my right hip (like where i get cramps). i didnt think much of it but it really frickin hurt. then today im spotting/my period started, but its not due til next week, and my cycle is usually like clockwork. i checked and my IUD string is still in place.

think i should be worried? is there a chance my IUD moved or something and the string is still there (like i didnt move TON but a little)?

This is happening to me right now, also!  I went to the doctor yesterday, and the IUD was still in place and he didn't find anything out of the ordinary.  He is sending me for a pelvic ultrasound to look for cysts, since apparently an IUD can make you prone to cysts.

ugh, sucky! so i should probably call the dr....!?

I was having the same thing. Told doc to take it out...

Then he did ultra sound and then wanted to do more tests, sadly I don't have the best insurance so after I got the first bill in the mail I canceled all other app's... I felt fine once the IUD was out.

Same here - I have been experiencing alot of back pain with mine.  I have an appointment next week to have it removed.

I'd worry if it continued for an extended period of time.  I get all sorts of random aches and pains that come and go!
