Angelcare Monitor - Basic or Deluxe?

Which one do you have?

There's a basic one, and a deluxe one.  It appears the deluxe one has two pads and two monitors, vs. one with the basic one.  Why would you need two?  Thoughts? Advice?

DS is about ready to transition to his crib and for my peace of mind I want one of these before he does.

TIA.

Re: Angelcare Monitor - Basic or Deluxe?

  • I have the basic one. the deluxe one also has sound so it could be used as a regular monitor as well. we already had our summer video monitor so we didnt need sound just the movement part. i love it so far! havent had any false alarms and sleep so much better know.

  • I'm not sure which one we have, because we have one pad but two parent monitors and charging stations.  I'm not sure why you would need two pads for one crib, though.

ETA: I have this one from Babies R Us:  https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2970307

It looks like it is the "Deluxe" version, whereas the one you linked to on Amazon is the "Deluxe Plus" version.  I guess I would prefer to have two parent units - that way, if the battery dies on one of them, you can use the other while the first charges again.

I also have the summer infant video monitor (love it). Sounds like the basic would work perfectly for our needs (and it's cheaper!). Thanks

Same here, except that I get a few beeps each night, when he moves off the pad.

  • I have the basic, but I am going to have to remove it from her crib soon.  She moves off of the pad by scooting down too much, so the alarm goes off.  I guess if you had two pads you would not have to worry about that for a while.

  • We have the basic.  We only have one handset and we keep it plugged in all time time downstairs or put in batts if we are outside.  If we are upstairs, we can hear DS.

I didn't want the deluxe especially because DS and I would always assume the other has a handset and the result would be a baby with no one monitoring him.
