Question about post D&C

I am new here. I have a 3 1/2 year old and just recently lost a baby at 11 weeks in mid-July. It was a missed miscarriage. The baby died at 8 weeks and we didn't find out until 11. I had a d&c 2 days after finding out. She sent me tissue in and showed no signs of infections or anything. I got my period back 4 weeks later to the day and it was the heaviest I ever had (and I lost some more tissue and stuff during that time). After my period everything seemed fine. We waited until around a week later (so 5 weeks after d&c) to have sex (my hubby had knee surgery right after my surgery so we've both been a mess) and after sex I had brown discharge for a few days. Then everything was fine. We had sex again the other night and I have had some mild pink and/or brown discharge and it seems to be clearing up again. I called the doctor and the nurse said it could be a cervical infection. I don't have any other symptoms, I am hoping it was just irritation from sex.

 

So my question is, anyone experience something similar after d&c? Spotting after sex? 5 and 6 weeks after d&c? Or has anyone experienced infection (specifically cervical) after d&c).

I had almost the exact same experience - missed miscarriage at 11 weeks, bled for two weeks after D&C, then resumed period 4 weeks after that.  My period was slightly heavier than usual, but not bad.  We didn't have sex again for almost two months after the D&C, I just wasn't into it.  I did, however, get some random spotting here and there, and honestly, I didn't worry too much about it, so I never inquired.  I figured any infection would be accompanied by some pain or swelling or smelly discharge (sorry), and I figured random spotting, etc., was just my body trying to normalize after the trauma.

I had almost no spotting the first month after D &C, but that second month (so 5-7 weeks after D&C I had spotting off and on. I noticed it would be after sex and also during ovulation time which I have never had before.  The third month I had no spotting. It might be worth checking out if your worried or it could just be your cycle is still regulating itself. Hope this helps!

I have not had any spotting since my D&C. If it continues to happen, I would go in and see your OB. Hopefully it is just your body re-regulating itself.

Thanks all for the info, I feel better to know I am not the only one experiencing post period & d&c spotting. The nurse called me back after talking to my doctor and she said that I should keep an eye on my symptoms (smell, fever - I have neither) and if the spotting continues to call them for testing. But I was given the "green light" to ttc after this next period so I told them I am coming in tomorrow and making sure everything is okay! I never had an exam after the d&c so I want to make sure everything is okay! I don't need an infection causing me problems now! I'm sure it's nothing but  I know I will drive myself crazy if I don't get it checked out! :-(
