Things that suck...

Other than morning sickness, things about pregnancy that suck:

For me, peeing when I sneeze.  No amount of kegels seem to fix this problem and it's getting really old, especially since I have a cold.

  • I have a coworker in her 50s who never had kids.  She asked me what pregnancy was really like and I told her it sucked.  Her response: "I knew it!"  HA!

Seriously though, I hate the multiple pee breaks I take each night.  I miss sleep!

Also, I miss sushi.  After this kid gets here, I want to swim in a pool of Philly rolls!

  • The break outs on my face and back and chest.

Feeling (and looking) like I have gained about 20 pounds already.

To go along with that, the lovely double chin I am now sporting due to water retention or whatever.

Getting up to pee five times a night.

Eating, eating, eating...and not feeling full!

The gas and heartburn, oh my! Burping and..well you know..all day long!

The good news for most of us is that with fall fast approaching, shaving our legs will be less necessary. With my son, I was 8 months pregnant in August, and there's nothing like trying to shave when your belly is that big and immobile.

  • Also feeling like the worst wife in the world

because after work it is all you can do to take your clothes off and crawl in bed. It takes all your spare energy to load the dish washer or start the washing machine! and forget about sex!

  • I definitely have a snissing (sneezing and peeing) problem. Hooray for pantyliners! The constant stretching in my sides sucks majorly too.

  • And the worst parent!  My son is sometimes very leechy and wants to lean on me and touch me all night long.  And I just want a giant bubble of cold air and no additional body parts.  I feel so badly, but tonight I finally had to ask him to go sit on a couch across the room so that he couldn't find his way back to leaning on me.

And yes, no sex for DH.  That body parts thing goes double for sex.

  • I have terrible pregnancy insomnia.  And when I do sleep, I have crazy vivid nightmares.

Also, later in 3rd tri, I hated sneezing.  Not because I would pee, but because it would make my belly contract and hurt.

Omg the peeing while sneezing is AWFUL!! It was worse when I was puking and peeing at the same time...loads of fun there. I thought with this being my 1st child I wouldn't have these bladder issues until after the baby was born, boy was I wrong!

  • never being able to get enough sleep.

    forgetting to do almost everything

    never feeling like myself

constant nausea, especially now where I'm still not telling a lot of people

I miss my old digestive system. At least then when I had to go #2, no big deal if I had to wait a little while. Now, when I have to go, I have to go.  That's fun when you're teaching a class.

  • For me things that suck!

peeing when I am dry heaving over the toilet, gross!

    acid reflux

peeing after every drop of liquid I drink

the taffy pulling sensation in my lower abdomen and pelvis

    fatigue

not being able to have the energy for sex with my husband

not being able to eat like I used to

and not looking like I gained a ton of weight really quickly

    Worrying all the time :(

Thank goodness for the second trimester, hopefully some of these things be on their way!

Sidenote: I also miss raw sushi and my dearest coffee.....

  • I haven't had the horrible m/s like others....but the "random" side effects you all are listing are so familiar.  The worst for me are:

The horrible back and chest acne that won't go away

Getting up in the night to pee

The belly that is not yet a baby, but very noticable...just feels like flab to me

Horrible dry, gross mouth...not just in morning, but all day....I hate my breath.

Feeling like I am so hungry I  might die...then eating so much my stomach hates me for the next several hours.

  • The fact that H does NOT get how feeling craptastic= no sex. He feels like I'm snubbing him or avoiding him when we don't have sex at least twice a week... UM, BABE- GTFOver yourself. This isn't about you.

And that we FINALLY went to Red Lobster yesterday... omg it was awesome. Loved the bread rolls, my food was delicious, enjoyed a sweet tea and water... later at Target bought candycorns and a Coke to combat a headache... then barfed it all up when I got home. Sad Now I don't think I can finish my leftover from RL. What a waste of $14!! It wasn't m/s, just random, 'WOW that doesn't mix!'

Also, the candycorns were awful. The cheap Brachman's are the best.

  • thought I would join in...I'm 12 weeks and 3 days.

I've been having a terrible time sleeping!

Feeling very tired in the day because of it and then at night wake up what feels like every 5 minutes! Also when you think the morning sickness has gone because you haven't had it in a few days, and then it comes back with a vengeance!

Haven't had the peeing whilst sneezing....yet! Also, for me morning sickness is just a really sicky feeling, I don't actually throw up....I usually try to eat to get rid of it but when it won't go away I tend to over eat and feel worse for it!

Today I'm not feeling too bad, just tired due to lack of sleep last night.....whoever said pregnancy is great......they were wrong lol

Trying on trousers that used to be baggy to realise they're starting to feel tight around the belly!!

OMG, me too!! I actually just sneezed and peed myself.  I am so sick of it.  It started when I was throwing up.  I would have a puddle under me.

  • I think the absolute worse thing about pregnancy so far has been the worry. I know it's silly to worry, especially when you're past the risky part of pregnancy. But this baby means so much to me, I would be heartbroken if anything happened - so paranoia unavoidably follows.
Other things that suck. NO sex drive. Constant zombi-like walks to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Feeling like I could eat a whole cow ALL the time. UGH...

I'm right there with you.  I went to the salon and had it all waxed and within a week it was already coming back.  I miss using Nair.  I resorted to using my husband electric razors for the long blond hairs. Embarrassed

  • I hate being a constant heater...I'm warm all the time! It's so much fun being realllllllllllllllllllly hot so I throw the blankets off then being realllllllllllly cold so I put them on. Between that and having to pee every hour at night I get loads of good sleep...NOT! Oh yeah and now insomnia has come back like it did when I first found out I was pregnant. It comes at 3-4 in the morning and will not let me go back to bed. I still get sick every once in awhile when I brush my teeth in the morning so my ritual is to take my bottoms and underwear off, put a towel under me, vomit, and pee on the towel. I throw up in my sink because it's too darn uncomfortable bending that far over by the toilet and peeing all over the floor. I have a system now. It's sad. I also very much so dislike my horrible pimple ridden face. I do not like the constant pulling in my uterus when I stand, sit, cough, sneeze, laugh...etc. I cant stand the constant back pain and the hip pain either. Also I'm not a fan of sciatica...no bueno. I dislike that my husband has no freaking clue what I'm going through and gets annoyed with my whining sometimes....REALLY??? The whinit annoys you....try being me!!!!  And the number one hated thing...not being able to sleep on my belly. I've been a belly sleeper for 24 and 3/4 years and now all of a sudden I have to try and sleep another way. Boo!

All of this sucks but really every moment I feel blessed to be pregnant and to have my baby grow inside at a healthy rate.

We will survive ladies! This just sucks lol.

  • - Having to pee in the middle of the night.  I never seem to go a ton during the day, but it's like my body waits till I am comfy in bed.

    - Always being hungry but no food ever sounds good.

    - My appetite.  I would kill to be able to handle a steak.  Heck, right about now, I would settle for just being able to look at one without getting sick.

    - Always being tired.

  • Not being able to get into a comfortable sleeping position...and this one is only going to get WAY worse over the next 6 months.

    Peeing while sneezing...terrible!

I also feel pretty crappy about the amount of tv DD has watched since I've become pregnant. I just don't have the energy to play with her like I did before, and my patience is pretty thin :(

  • - the hair growing on my stomach. EW.

    - peeing in the middle of the night. and then taking forever to get back to sleep!

  • For me:
The breakouts all over (face, neck, chest and back....and I even found one on my HIP the other day! WTF?!)

Eating a ton and not feeling full- I enjoy eating, but when it seems like you might not be able to stop, EVER, then it gets to be inconvenient.

Boobs being big. I was big before. They didn't need to get any bigger. Not that DH is complaining of course! :-P

Lack of energy to do ANYTHING! Really it's 8:30 right now and pre-pg I could easily stay up til 11 or later on a work night...tonight I'll be lucky if I make another 30-45 minutes before passing out! And poor DH is definitely suffering from my lack of energy....

Having to wear my fat clothes again! I was on Weight Watchers before this and at my lowest had lost about 22 lbs and was down to a size 6. I took all of my 6s and 8s out of my closet this weekend because there's just no attempting to squeeze into them anymore. My 10s are already tight and I definitely need a belly band for them. I went out last weekend and bought some maternity pants which are SUPER comfy, but definitely accentuate the bump!

  • For me its peeing when I throw up, ugh it is really crappy. Embarrassed but I just can't help it.
