2.5 year well check?

Is it standard practice now to have a 2.5 year well check? I vaguely remember doing one with twins but when I just logged on to our pedi's web portal to print out Logan's health record (he needs it to start the 2 year old program on Thursday) there was a reminder that he was due for a well check.

I emailed them to set up an appointment... I just feel shitty for forgetting. :(

Re: 2.5 year well check?

  • I think I remember my pedi saying something about starting 2.5 year checkups when DD was there last. Some insurance companies will only cover a certain number of well visits each year though. Our dr said that a lot happens developmentally between ages 2 and 3, so they want a checkup in that time.
  • our pedi says it's basically a developmental check.  I had to pay out of pocket for my son (not knowing it wasn't covered by my insurance) so I skipped it for DD.

All they basically did was a checklist.   Waste of time/money when I had no concerns about DD.

This.  We didn't have one for ds, but they mentioned it for dd at her 2 yr.  My insurance only pays for 1/year so we skipped it.
