HOORAY FOR FINALLY GETTING THIS BOARD!! I think it was long overdue. Let's do introductions?
I'm Molly, I had my first child and first C-section in May. I tried as hard as I could to prepare for a natural birth, but God had other plans, and now any future babies will certainly be repeat C-sections, although hopefully they'll be easier than DD's was!
Re: Introduce Yourself!
I'm Lawrene, and had an unplanned c/s with my son (he got stuck in my birth canal) and a repeat c/s with my daughter.
Nice to meet you!
Hi Im Jen
Had a normal delivery with my first daughter but this go around had an unscheduled csection after 18 hours of labor...my daughter was born on 9/1 and after getting to 8 cm she just wasnt coming down and doc said she was probably tangled up in her cord...sure enough she was!
I am Allysun,1st child with em. general anesthesia c-ection in February. I have been diagnosed with cephalopelvic disproportion so I will end up with repeat c-sections.
Hi! I'm Sarah & I had my first child on July 1. She was a scheduled c-section b/c she was breech. I wasn't a candidate for a version due to a 10 cm anterior uterine fibroid.
I've known about the fibroid for years and was always aware that it might interfere with childbirth. We knew DD was breech at 20 weeks and she never turned. So, I had plenty of time to get used to the idea. Plus, I wasn't real eager to go through L&D. Any future babies will be scheduled c-sections as well.
Hi, I'm Lindsey.
I had an emergency c/s on 8/8/11 b/c DS's heart-rate kept dipping dangerously low everytime I had a contraction. Additionally, there was muconium in the amniotic fluid and it wouldn't flush out. Everything happened so fast...I was admitted at 1:00am at 4cm dilation with irregular contractions and 5 hours later, I held my son in my arms.
I never thought I'd have a c/s...but it resulted in a healthy baby, so we're all happy!
Hello!
FishNChips here. I had a c-section a little over a year ago. It was not planned. After 40 hours of labor, only 7 cm and swollen cervix and her being stuck I had to get one. When they pulled her out she was stuck in my hips! She was 9lbs 9 oz. Im only 5'3 so its a big baby for my petite body!
Recovery was okay, I just had super soft yoga pants I lived in until my incision healed.
I'm Tanisha and had an "emergency" c-section with my first son after 22 hours of pitocin, 40w 6d, GD, AND low fluid.
I had a scheduled c-section with my second son at 37w 6d. It was way easier to recover from this c-section than my first.
Nice to see everyone!
I was going to try for a VBAC with DS3 in 2010 but the docs decided to have LO come at 36 weeks. They gave me the option of trying for a VBAC but since I wasn't dilated I went ahead with another c/s. I didn't want to have to have another emergency c/s. The 2nd time around was so much better!
Hello ladies,
I'm Jessyka. I have an emergency c-section in '07 and a repeat with reconstructive 2 months ago. I hope all you ladies and your LO are doing well!
Hello, I'm Laura and I had Eleanor via emergency C-section in January of this year. I was induced after a 'failed' non stress test at 39 weeks, 2 days. After 40 hours of pitocin labor (35 of which were epi free) and 2+ hours of pushing, I spiked a fever and E was not turning so we were whisked into the OR. E was over 9 lbs and sunny side up... and apparently I have a narrow pelvis.

Hi!
I've had 2 c/s. #1 was for fetal distress and failed forceps. I had a repeat with #2. I was thinking about a VBAC, but I developed pre-e and delivered her at 37 weeks. I'm also an L&D nurse if anyone has any questions

Hi! I'm Megan
DD1 was an unplanned c-section in '07 due to failure to progress and she was stuck in my pelvis (she was sunny side up). DD2 was a planned RPC in '09, although she didn't like the date I picked out and decided to be born at 33wk 5d.
I'm currently pg with twins, who will be born via planned c-section, hopefully around 38 wks, but we'll see... ::crosses fingers and prays to make it to 37 wks::
Hello, I'm Amanda. I delivered my first son vaginally in March 2008. I was induced due to elevated BP at 39 weeks 1 day and had a very successful induction.
I wasn't having as many BP issues with my 2nd pregancy but it would shoot up suddenly and then go back down after laying on my left side for a few minutes. However, I had excess fluid plus growth scans showed he was going to be big.
My second son was born on June 14. I was induced at 38 weeks 6 days and thought it would go as smoothly as it did last time. I stalled at 6 cm for a couple hours and developed a fever but meds brought it back down and I continued to progress. After almost 12 hours, I hit 10 and started pushing. He was still very high up and his heartrate dropped with every push. After 20 minutes, the OB called for a c-section since his heartrate was dropping too much. I was rushed into the OR and they got him out right away. He was born not breathing and his cord was stuck between his head and neck/shoulder.
I had an extremely difficult recovery. I got very sick while in the hospital and was moved to CCU on the day I was supposed to be released. My hemoglobin dropped and I needed 5 units of blood that day. I got 2 more during my 3 week stay. I had to go back in for another week after being sent home(got to spend 5 days at home) I had laproscopic surgery and they found a hematoma of old blood in my pelvic area.
I was basically in the hospital for the 2nd half of June and the 1st half of July. I have spent the rest of the summer slowly building up strength and getting back to normal. I finally just started feeling like my old self about 1.5 weeks ago.
We are not planning on having anymore kids. We were 99% certain that we were done before Alex was born and after all we've been through this summer, well now we are 100% sure that we are done!!!!

Hi I am Cagle,
I had my first csection in April of 08 after a failed induction. Then a repeat csection 12/08 and 7/11.
I'm Melissa. I had a planned C-Sec in May due to Placenta Previa. Everything went great and smoothly. I plan to have another C-Sec with my second child...whenever that happens.
Hi, I'm Julie. I had an unplanned/emergency c-section with my DS on June 9th. I was 6 days overdue when I went into labor. Made it all the way to 6cm but got stuck there for over 5 hours. Dr gave Pitocin (evil), then due to fetal distress, my fever rising and not progressing, all ended in the section. But I have a happy, healthy boy and that is all that matters.
I'm Corey,
I labored for 24 hours without progression and the baby had bad reactions to the Pitocin, so I ended up with an unplanned c-section in the 36th hour. Luckily she was just fine and I had no recovery complications.
Glad to have this board now that we are thinking about ttc #2
Hi, I'm Holly. I had an unplanned C/S with my daughter on April 4th. I had been in labor for 36 hours before I was told I was having a C/S. I had progressed quickly, but got stuck at 8 for 6 hours. When I caved and got an epi, the baby actually pulled back and I went back to a 6 and that is when they told me. They actually told me that she was sunny side up and crooked going into the pelvis.
I did not have the birth experience I had planned on and wanted, but I am happy my baby got out safely. She does have a neck issue now called torticollis because of being in that position for so long during my labor.
