This stupid pablum has been brought up by my MIL, and several friends and family. I know its something you add to the bottle, but I was looking at the store today and didn't see anything called that.(I wanted to read the box/bag) What is it? Is it the same as rice cereal?
Apparently giving my child pablum will solve all his problems. (Not that he has problems - people just don't like the fact he's waking up ONCE in the night for a feed
I have zero plans for giving it to him, but I still wonder what it is.

edit to make clicky
I actually googled this after I posted, and read this, but how come I don't see it at the store? Do they sell pablum anymore? Why would someone use that instead of rice cereal?
I don't think it's actually called "pablum" anymore. Heinz may still make the biscuits that you can break up and add water to or feed as is, but I'm not sure.
I think people still use the name pablum for grain cereals. It's kind of like calling a generic "facial tissue" a Kleenex, even though Kleenex is a brand rather than the item.
My mom calls rice cereal 'pablum' and thinks it's a cure all too. She wanted me to give it to LO at 4 weeks because 'it's not normal' for him not to STTN by then. Now she wants me to give it to him as he is long and skinny.....
No pablum/rice cereal is in our plans either.
Our pediatrician actually brought this up at our 4-month check-up yesterday afternoon. In the context of his MIL continuously insisting that he give his kids pablum starting at 2 weeks of age and no one else calling it that anymore. (He didn't give in.)
Our families don't care about cereals and their timing, fortunately. Although an anti-vaccine MIL is almost as fun...
