Hi everyone...
I have a daughter that's going to be 1 in a few weeks, and the topic came up between my husband and I to start thinking about baby #2. With my first, I went in to be induced...once they started me on the P-drip, everytime I would contract, her heart rate would drop - and so they stopped the meds. Since I wasn't dialating on my own, the doctor told us that they would have to take her by c-section. There were some complications when I was on the table, and I started hemeraging...
My OB told me that because of the situation with our daughter, we are definitely going to have scheduled c-sections for future children. The more I read about 2nd time c-sections, the more terrified I get...has anyone else had similar stories? I would love to have more babies, but I want to make sure that it's safe for me to do so.
Re: c-section - 2nd time around...
I just had a 2nd c-section (thought about VBAC and gave it a chance, but felt more peace about the RCS for us since I might/probably do have a small pelvis, etc). It went great! As great as major surgery can go! Overall, not a bad experience. I did get nausea from the spinal. But I also did heal very well and very quickly- about 5 days at the most and I felt fine. And the doctor said I looked great in there! Also, he made my scar look so much better- it's really thin now.
(I don't know much about hemorrhaging, though. Is that something that is likely to repeat? I'd ask the doctor more about that.)
That's really a question for your doc, especially since you hemorrhaged. I've had 4 cs's and all of them have gone perfectly.
The doc actually said that my uterus looked to be in great condition considering the previous cs's and said I'd be fine to have another baby.
After my 2nd c/s my doc said that everything looked good (little to no scarring, etc.), so if I wanted to have a 3rd or 4th, we'd be fine to do so, just to wait about a year or so before getting pregnant again.
Well, when DD2 was 23 months old we found out we were expecting again, and on her 2nd birthday we found out it was twins... They'll be delivered via RPC as well.
