Crib mobiles for odd shape rails?

Having a tough time getting a mobile to fit either my side railings or the top rails.

Anyone have a rec???  My railings are the normal flat surface, they have a little ridge/curve to them...

Re: Crib mobiles for odd shape rails?

  • Our mobile hangs from a hook in our ceiling above the crib. I actually like that a lot better because the ones that go on the railing have to be taken off as soon as your LO can pull up to stand because they can pull them off the railing. A ceiling mobile can be pulled up higher once your LO can stand and remain hanging in the room for much longer without being a hazard.

  • We're planning to hang the mobile from the wall next to the crib. We'll be using an ornate plant hanger that DH spray painted to match the decor.

The mobile clamps worried me. I didn't want them to scratch the crib (even though they claim they won't) and I wanted to keep the mobile a bit higher for when LO gets a bit bigger.

If you're looking to still attach to the crib I've seen some of the clamp/arms sold seperately on ebay for about $10. I'm not sure if they are of any different shape...

  • My husband built a 'pole' to put at the head of the crib to hold the mobile because it would not fit on the rails.  If I had not hunted so hard to find this particular mobile I probably would have just done without it.

We have the Bonavita Lifestyle Collection - Payton crib.  I also could not get a soother to fit on the crib.
