Apparently Pregnancy Brain is a myth

It was a trivia question over commercial break on TLC- watching I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant. They said it's not true, and that a pregnant women's cognitive skills actually increase.

I had to laugh. I'd like to know where they get thier information...

I haven't noticed an increase yet, but the little zombie has definitely made me more distracted and easily forgetful!

Um... I disagree with TLC! My theory is that your brain is so preoccupied with the pregnancy (and other children if you have them) that you can't think straight about anything. I've found that my pregnancy brain this time around is WAY worse that with #1

Really? I think Dr. Oz says it is real. He says your brain shrinks due to Omega fats or something like that. I obviously dont remember all the details.

Our eyesight gets worse, our motor coordination gets worse, short term memory issues isn't a stretch.  I think TLC is full of it.

Aw crap!  If my eyesight gets any worse I am going to be blind.

I have read all kinds of  lists of pregnancy myths and pregnancy brain was on there. However exhaustion often can make you more forgetful, so its not that out-there to assume pregnancy pains is attributed to exhaustion and not just some condition we all get.  I can see them meaning hormones dont make brain function go down, but there is no way to say that due to distraction and other factors we are not all acting a lil dumber these days.  If I cant stop worrying about if my baby is ok or thinking of what I want to buy than how am I going to focus on other things.

ha!! I was so watching that today too and laughed out loud.  Ookay, I must be imagining it along with everyone else I know who has commented on my pregnancy brain or their own!
