So, the half circle that we can drop kids off is SMALL....probably at most you can get 7 cars in the line. Fine, no big deal. Lots of parents of the older kids drop their kid off down the street and let them walk the rest of the way...its mostly just us parents with younger kids. Fine, no big deal.
My PROBLEM is that the parents who use the circle wait (or refuse to pull forward if no one is in the first 2 or 3 spots) until the 3 car spots right in the middle that are RIGHT in front of the door to drop their kid off. I want to scream "PULL ALLL THE WAY AROUND!" or "GET YOUR KID OUT NOW, YOU DON"T NEED TO WAIT!" I'm not even kidding that it would add a total of 30 steps for their kid. ON top of it, there are usually 4-6 adults/teachers/aides out there, so its not like its NOT safe to drop them off a couple car lengths away, STILL IN THE CIRCLE!!!!!
Like I said, its NOT that big of a circle.
Re: My car line vent....
omg that would totally piss me off!
eta: this is why I wont be driving Michelle to school....the drop off car line would just irritates the crap out of me with all those over protective helicopter parents.
I have this same vent! UGH!!
I also hate when parents dont have their younger kids ready to get out and have to turn around and help them put their coat on, get their back pack etc. DO THAT WHILE YOU ARE WAITING IN LINE!! As soon we we pull into the parking lot/circle I have mine unbuckle, put their coats on and get their backpack on. When we pull up to the sidewalk whether its at the door or not I make them hop out and I get out of line. Our circle has 2 lanes. One for just pulling around and going to the other parking lot or exit and one for drop off. Its all one line up until the circle then it splits. Its a PITA but does help some. At least you dont get stuck in the circle if you are trying to leave. We also have a police officer who is there at drop off and pick up. He is the school resource officer and is there during a big part of the day as well. He watches the sidewalks and then the principal holds one door for the kids to walk in. Then there is an aid who holds the other door. I feel completely safe dropping them off and driving on. But that never happens because even after they get out I have to sit and wait for the dumba$$ infront of me to pull all the way up to let precious johnny out right square at door. Lol.
I feel your pain!!
