Spotting

I have had some spotting the last couple of days.  Not very much at all and it's only happened a couple of times.  I'm trying to decide if I should call the dr.  Part of me think i should just for the peace of mind.  The other part tells me i'm over reacting and that this is normal in first tri.

Re: Spotting

  • It can be common. But you should call and let them know and let them decide if they want to see you. I'm sure they will ask you if you have had sex recently, b/c that can easily cause spotting.

I have spotted a handful of times, starting around 9 weeks, lasting literally minutes each time, and my OB still wanted me to call when it happened. After 3 trips in, each with an u/s, they have just labeled me a bleeder...

Call. It will make you feel better!!

  • Yes, it can be common, but you should still call. They may want to see you or may want you to have an extra ultrasound. It will make you feel better too. Do not hesitate to call if you are ever in doubt, the office is used to it and it is their job.

  • Thanks.  I just called and they didn't seem very worried.  I guess it's going to be a loonngg wait until my next appointment.  Ugh...
