Still so tired...

I feel like I am tired beyond what may be normal. I sleep 8 hours a night and still have to nap during the day - and by "nap", I mean "slightly less alarming version of a coma". I slept for three hours yesterday afternoon and still went to bed early! Is anyone else still feeling this way? Beyond the occasional cup of coffee - maybe once or twice a week if I'm desperate - I just don't know what to do. I eat a very good diet and take all my vitamins, and I get a decent amount of non-impact exercise almost daily. Bleugh!

  • I feel the same way!  Friday night I fell asleep on the couch at 8:30, went to bed at 9:30, and slept until 9:30 Saturday morning!  That's 13 hours!  And I slept 12 last night!  What am I going to do tomorrow when I have to get up at 5:00???

  • Hang in there...it does get better! I was exhausted throughout the entire first tri, but I can tell that my energy level has gone up since Friday. I am hoping that it isn't a fluke and stays that way for awhile!

  • I'm exhausted and in bed as soon as DS is in bed. So 12 hours at night plus a 2 hour nap. And on weekends I lie around most of the day and DH takes DS. M/s is still kicking my butt.

This is the way I'm feeling.  In the past few days, I've started taking mid-morning naps again.  How am I going to make it through my first week back at work with my Kindergartners if I'm seriously falling asleep?

  • So glad its not just me! I get little bursts of energy during the day, I mean an hour or two at a time and then feel the need to veg out or nap... Not so helpful when I get mid way into a project (like reorganizing the kitchen or cleaning out the office) and have to stop mid mess to rest... This has to get better. I can't be a lump for 6 more months

  • I was feeling like this for a few weeks not that long ago. I'm not much farther along than you are, but I am feeling considerably better week by week. When I was tired, I would sleep. I just made sure that I wasn't getting too much sleep or I would get incredibly groggy and start getting nightmares. Once I started sleeping as much as my body told me I needed to, I started needing less. I don't need naps anymore (I do get tired but I just cuddle up on the couch with a book) and I'm down to about 8 1/2 hours of sleep a night. Hopefully it gets better!
