When introducing solids... (a question)

So we will be introducing solids after 6 months, but I was just wondering about breastfeeding logistics at that time. I understand that babies should still be getting most of their nutrition from breastmilk at that point, so does one introduce the solid food after a nursing session so the baby is mostly full? At what point in baby's first year does a meal of solids actually start to replace a nursing session?

FWIW, I'm not done researching whether we will do BLW or purees... TIA!

Re: When introducing solids... (a question)

  • From just glancing at different things it seems like you'd wake up, do a feeding.. then like an hour or so later try a solid.. then do normal nursings/bottles and then slowly add in another food.. like say the next week you wake up feed, hour later solid.. feed / solid.. that's what ive seen. ive also seen it the other way but i think when you first introduce you dont want them to be starving or it could backfire.
