I think, but could be wrong, that they have something to do with getting a brick or not.  Honestly though, your guess is as good as mine.

I think points are what get you the silver, bronze, etc. status but I could be totally wrong. They don't explain it anywhere that I am aware of.

It takes 501 posts to get bronze. Points can vary though depending on if you start posts, reply to posts, use polls, quotes, dance around naked under the full moon etc.

I 'think' the points go toward the little bricks (aka nesticles) only.

I so have pregnancy brain.  That's what I mean.  501 to get a bronze. 

I know you get points when people respond to your posts.  And I believe if they rate your posts good...and all that fun stuff.

True, higher star ratings and popular post also get more points although no one knows what the break down is, not surprising for the knot IT dept.
