How did you ladies choose your crib bedding?
Maybe I'm being too picky, but I just can't find anything that screams "THIS IS IT!". I've spent days and hours scanning the web, and I find ideas that are cute... but continually second guess it?
Any suggestions on how you came to choose?
Re: How did you choose your crib bedding?
It can get a little overwhelming. Do you have an idea on what type of theme you want to do (or even if you're doing a theme).
We actually settled on our nursery theme pretty early (NY Yankees -- DH is a huge Yanks fan) and ended up not buying a bedding set. We just bought crib sheets in blues/red/baseballs and spent the money on getting all the wall decorations and curtains to pull the theme together.
5 REs + 3 surgical hysteroscopies for septum/lap + 3 failed IUIs
IVF w/ICSI/AH & acu = BFP!, unexplained spontaneous m/c @ 8w2d (our little girl),

Our twins born @36w4d via CS when A came foot first
Thankful for every day
I haven't liked any of the packaged ones either. We might just get a bedding set made in some fabrics I've chosen, or, just go with solid colors. This site lets you play with mixing colors, and you can even set it to show the bedding with your furniture AND wall color! The gals on money matters board gave it a 2 thumbs up as far as fabric quality too.

i didn't really think about it. my window treatments are where my theme comes into play.
as far as sheets we aren't doing bumpers or anything. we are just going to buy regular sheets. i did buy crib skirts that match the window treatments.
but really, you don't need a quilt, bumpers are personal preference and then all you are left with really are sheets (maybe a bed skirt too?). if you try looking for individual elements that you know you want, like window treatments, sheets, etc, that all coordinate, then it might open up more options for you.
I FEEL THE SAME WAY!!!!
I have the worst time trying to decide. I feel like it is so central to designing the nursery. Especially, when I know what colors I want and I just can't find the bedding to match!

I feel/felt the same way! I finally found one that I like at Pottery Barn ( https://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/hayley-nursery-bedding/?pkey=bgirls-nursery-bedding ).
Her room is a light lavender color so it was really hard to find bedding that had any purple in it, but wasn't completely purple either. You're not the only one who's picky
Good luck with your search!
We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And HOPE does not dissappoint.

I had a really hard time too. I like to do certain colors as a theme. So I had something in my head and couldn't find it or even fabric to match what I wanted. I had originally thought I would just find a skirt and get a breathable bumper and sheets separate. But I found it really hard to even find just crib skirts!
I finally found what I wanted and it was even on sale (being discontinued I think) on diapers.com. I think I found it on eBay then I Googled the name of it to find it for less. I am so happy now that I found what I wanted.
I dont pay too much attention to the comforter.. it wont be on the crib. I dont prefer the character loaded super themey type stuff and I felt like, especially for boys, that's what I saw. Also I dont want birds/owls. I had the same issues when doing DD's room. I am almost done with my nursery now! Yay!

I totally felt the same way. I knew I wanted her room to be purple and green, so i started by looking for either bedding or a rug or a piece of fabric that I could use as my starting point. Luckily I found a blanket that I loved at Land of Nod. And from there I picked my paint and other accessories.
Have you checked out etsy? Or gone to fabric store? It might help to find an inspiration piece and go from there. Good luck!
This is where I'm getting mine (here is a pic of what I 'designed')
